Thoughts on Nokia's New Devices

Time for my not so famous and uninteresting thought on Nokia's new device offering.

To start with, a mid teir music device emergence, the Nokia 5630 XpressMusic. I was a bit skeptical seeing this phone for the first time in the web, I thought it was not interesting due to its simple look and design but when i peek on the specs sheet, i was amazingly surprise how feature packed it was that sent shock waves to my nut size brain.

Among the very specs that caught my attention was the processor speed, it carries an ARM 11 CPU with 600Mhz speed, a big boast among Nokia's line up which is most of the time within the 200-300Mhz zone even on its high profiled N-Series Flagships. The phone will also carry WLAN (Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, UPnP technology), a very fast 3.5G HSDPA connectivity of 10.2 Mbps, standby screen widgets like that of the 5800 and N97, Symbian S60 Feature Pack 2, N-Gage compatibility, thin dimension of 112x46x12 mm and best of all, music capability at its best with dedicated music keys on the side, powerful sound speakers and a new feature, "Say and Play" where you only have to speak the name of an artist of track and the phone automatically plays it, where in the world can you find a 199 Pounds phone with this powerful features, none among the competition. Although the camera is only a 3.2 megapixel but this is not bad rather, this rage can still capture decent images enough to save fun memories.

I would definitely recommend this to everyone, this is the best featured packed mid tier phone in the market at the moment. Perfect phone suited for the mass market on this turbulent economic times. The phone is expected to be release, 2nd quarter this year.

Another stellar device on Nokia sleeve is the 6700 Classic, a very savvy and good looking device that targets style conscious consumers and can lure business strata at the same time. The steel outer layer brings a solid and durable impression while the black screen frame conveys a classy and modish appeal, a perfect combination of contemplative mood and durability. Looks if this phone alone could already attract potential buyers but Nokia did not stop from their, they gave it a modest and powerful features starting with 3.5G HSDPA of up to 10 Mbps, a very fast connectivity option that is even faster than WLAN, this depends though on the network your using, Globe Telecom here in the Philippines supports up to 1Mbps only.

Other great feature includes Content Adaptive Brightness Control, I never meet this before, Micro USB Charging, 5 megapixel camera, built in GPS with A-GPS support and Flash Lite 3 for .flv (YouTube) compatibility. The phone is scheduled to be release on the third quarter of 2009. Far fetch but worth the wait.

I believe their were more phones coming this year for Nokia, my wild guess, Flagship Camera device will be unveiled in the upcoming GSMA Mobile Phone Congress, and several mid tier touchscreens. I'm very much looking forward to this event. Stay Tuned for more!
