Nokia Lumia 800's Popularity and Future Sales, Questioned!

News were cropping out recently about Nokia Lumia 800's, one predictive while the other definitive, but either way negative for the first Nokia running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango. Google Trend shows less interest on the phone while a market analyst gave it a cold shoulder predicting a low sales for the phone in the coming holiday season.

Well I thought the said report was negligently done because it just base its market prediction on Goggle Trends not knowing that a product sells not only by popularity but by other major factors. It just shows how amateur and untrusted this group is, very much expected since this group is unknown not until it created a buzz due to its immature findings.

With the popularity thing, I myself don't feature Lumia 800 much because I'm not happy with the way it turned out. I made mention this in my post Nokia World 2011 reaction, listing the Lumia line up to the frustrate group being mere lookalikes with Nokia Lumia 800 to the N9 and the Lumia 710 to the Nokia 603. I rant about Nokia's failure to come up with a hardware design that is unique for Lumia but other than my personal view, the rest of the critics find it very promising.

The phone is also offered on limited countries, 5 or more I believe so its really expected for it to be unknown to the rest of the world since the advertising effort is locally done. For instance, here in the Philippines, we don't have a local television commercial of the phone, how could it gain Goggle searches here?

To disprove further the analyst prediction, how come that in 5 initial countries where the phone was now being offered, initial sales and p re-orders were very positive. Did Goggle Trend showed this on their data? And also, could the result been tweak knowing that Goggle owns Android? Isn't it more questionable than the Nokia Lumia's p opularity?

Either way, Nokia still has to strive more to belie this hearsay further.

- First thing first, offer the phone further to more countries then do what it takes to promote the phone locally.
- Then they must court their hard core Symbian supporters to switch, they are not doing enough in this aspect because I myself was not convinced.
- Or better yet, release a high end Windows phone or tablet with a powerful specs and new feature to raise interest further. Its a psychological war in the smartphone space nowadays, people always think that the most high end spec phone is the best yet its definitely not, but just to satisfy this notion, Nokia must do it.

Further more, Nokia must not loose focus on their target to reclaim supremacy in the smartphone race, I believe there on the right track, there just not doing enough.
