Nokia 110 Review, The Most Affordable Dual Sim Internet Device
The Nokia 110 is the newest member of the Dual Sim and Dual Standby phone from Nokia. Recently released, the phone is by far the most affordable entry level Dual Sim Internet capable handset in the market. I personally call it exemplary steal...
...here are the reasons why:
1. Modest built quality. In buying phones, the very first thing that comes to my mind especially in entry level devices is, will it endure my recklessness? If a phone doesn't look and feel solid enough, I’ll ditched it out right away knowing the fact that entry level devices takes on below standard materials to keep the manufacturing price low like other manufacturers does with their phones. These phone retains the solid and reliable built that Nokia had been known for decades, it feels like you can drop the phone all you want and nothing can go wrong. Try that on Chinese clones and you will get broken screens, microphone, earpiece, antenna, just to mention some, worst of all, it won't be fixed so you'll have to buy another unit again. It does need some cover case since the phone is not scratch proof.
2. Designs for entry level phones were usually plain to nearly beastly; the Nokia 110 prides its youthful and fun design thwarting the norm. The black variant that I got looks nominally attractive for an entry level device. T9 keypad is made up of soft rubber that is enjoyable to press aside of course from having a good tactile feedback.
3. Screen is only 1.8 inches with 56 Thousand color resolutions but it’s well contoured from the backlights, background themes, to the text characters were users won't find the screen display difficult to see.
4. The phone has outstanding basic features, you can rely on its signal strength on both Sims, clearness of voice calls and easy messaging features such as the predictive text input, all mastered and perfected by Nokia for decades, etc. Rather, it won't fail users on reliability, unlike the rest (Chinese clones, etc.) which falters in signal after a month use, nor has a hazy voice calls or confusing SMS input mechanism.
5. Simple user interface. The phone runs Symbian 40 software and just like what they've been known for the longest time, Nokia made it sure that users will have no problem using and familiarizing the phone dual mechanisms and overall feature.
6. Full entertainment offer. The devices has a great gaming features as it will bring free 40 key EA Games, valued at EUR 75 if bought separately, including well known titles like Tetris®, Bejewelled®, Need for Speed(TM) The Run, Monopoly Here & Now, and SimCity(TM) Deluxe; it’s got an MP3/WMA/AAC player, MP4/H.264 video player, stereo FM radio with RDS, FM recording and 3.5mm audio jack.
7. Full internet and social network connectivity via the innovative Nokia browser (WAP 1.1) that features a website compression technology via cloud that allows users to consume less data by up to 90% and direct access to Facebook and Twitter via Nokia Social.
8. Basic VGA camera and video camcorder.
9. Battery life is outstanding on the phone. Though it only has Li-Ion 1400 mAh (BL-6C), on the average, the phone lasts for 3 days covering all my communication needs, music and games.
10. Micro SD card slot is present that could support up to 32GB, most of the phones with the same price bracket don’t even have SD cards or if there is, it can only support 2GB the most. With a micro SD slot, you can attach memory cards and add or play mp3 files all you want.
11. Nokia Store Client, the phone is capable of downloading thousands of apps, music and games. With the phones Java capability, you could install countless games and application on it.
12. Bluetooth v2.1 with EDR, you can transfer music and video files to other Bluetooth devices.
13. Then there’s the rest the useful productivity features such as the calculator, reminders, converter, countdown timers, calendar, stop watch and ringtone composer.
14. Last but not the least, the phones price is very affordable. At the moment, I can be brought for only PhP2,300-2,400 or even cheaper via direct retailers.
Disadvantages of the phone:
1. Processor is a little slow for me. It opens applications, messages, music among other files sluggishly than say Nokia 101.
2. Color resolution is also a concern for me since the phone is an internet device by itself, with its 56Thou color capability; the phone renders poor webpage display.
3. I find the Inbox mechanism peculiar. The phone combines the inbox of two Sims, though it has markers per SIM, the side scroll marker on the right most side is very thin that it’s almost impossible to see. Users won’t be able to know how far they have scrolled up or down.
4. The plastic cover is prone to scratches.
Must Buy for:
1. New mobilephone users
2. Students, Nokia browser is a great research tool
3. Social network users
4. Business enthusiasts (Good phone for selling loads)
5. Professionals with tight budget (like me!)
6. Individuals who want a plain decent phone.
7. Individuals who don’t want to charge phones often.

Nokia 808 PureView, Tips and Tricks
The phone is a powerful camera device alright but aside from having a humongous 41MP camera sensor, high-performance Carl Zeiss optics, new pixel oversampling technology, full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4X lossless zoom, Nokia Rich Recording, Xenon and LED Flash, a Dolby Digital Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback among the rest of its camera and video specifications, the phone also has a superior features and menu on par with professional DSLR cameras.
CAMERA MODES
The Nokia 808 PureView camera is designed to be fast and smooth right out of the box. Just a single long press of the camera key at the top right will snap a picture – even when the phone is locked. This is the easiest way to take a photo, but
you can also set a number of different modes:
a. Automatic mode
This is the camera default mode and is ideal for most everyday photo-taking situations.
b. Scenes mode
In Scenes mode, you can choose from a number of pre-defined scenes for which the settings have been optimized: Landscape, Close-up, Portrait, Sports, Night, Night portrait, Spotlight and Snow.
c. Creative mode
Creative mode gives you freedom to influence all the key parameters used in capturing photos. With a long press on the screen you can choose from the following pre-defined focus modes:
• Infinity: Recommended for taking images of scenery, so subjects far away will appear sharp. Can also be used for fast-moving subjects more than 10 metres away
• Hyperfocal: Subjects beyond 2 metres away will appear reasonably sharp. Recommended for situations where subjects are at different distances from the camera, e.g. a football match
• Close-up: Subjects at 15 cm-40 cm away will appear sharp
• Automatic: The default focus setting
Note: When using automatic or close-up modes, a short tap on the screen will lock the focus to the selected point.
EXPOSURE COMPENSATION
In Creative mode, you can verify the exposure before taking a picture with the help of the live histogram that becomes visible when you press the exposure compensation icon on the left side of the screen.
For the best results, photos should be exposed according to the brightest part of the image, as blown out whites don’t look good. In the case of very high contrast scenes, it is advisable to even out the contrast with fill-in flash. Note that half pressing the mechanical shutter key at the top of the phone will lock the auto exposure.
WHITE BALANCE
In Creative mode, you can adjust the white balance with the help of several pre-
defined settings: Sunny, Automatic, Cloudy, Incandescent and Fluorescent. It is advisable to use the manual white balance settings if the automatic settings do not provide pleasing results.
ISO (LOW LIGHT)
In Creative mode, you can select the ISO setting to be anything from 50 to 1600. The higher the ISO setting, the brighter the picture is under low-light conditions. It is also possible to set the ISO on automatic.
The best possible low-light performance is achieved when the camera is in PureView mode at 2/3, 5 or 8 megapixels. To allow exposure times of up to 2.7 seconds and to take “noise free” pictures in low light conditions, you can manually set the ISO low (e.g. 50). For the best results, it is recommended to use a tripod or similar support, or to select Auto ISO or Night mode.
Flash is usable up to a distance of 3-4 metres.
NEUTRAL DENSITY (ND) FILTER
Manually enabling the ND Filter makes it possible to take images with a motion blur effect, for example. The ND Filter can be manually enabled when the Nokia 808 PureView is in Creative mode.
When the ND Filter is manually enabled and the ISO value is manually set at a low value (such as 50), the camera will use long exposure times (up to 2.7 seconds) – even in bright conditions.
If the ND filter is manually disabled in bright conditions, the camera will use very short exposure times. This makes it possible to freeze rapidly moving subjects, although limited overexposure can take place.
ZOOM
With the Nokia 808 PureView it is possible to zoom without diminishing resolution. The magnitude of the zoom depends on the resolution, but the zoom is always lossless and for 5 megapixel output resolution you can zoom up to 3x.
Zooming is done by sliding your finger across the screen in a vertical direction. The camera must be set to 2/3, 5 or 8 megapixel resolution in order to
use the zoom function.
For the best image quality, it is recommended only to zoom in daylight.
CLOSE-UP
You can select the pre-defined Close-up settings from the side bar in Scenes mode, or with a long-press on the phone screen when in Creative mode.
For the best possible close-up pictures, use the 5 megapixel PureView mode with the maximum 3x zoom. Flash can be used at a distance of approximately 15 cm.
BOKEH EFFECT
The bokeh effect, or background blur, is a highly valued feature among portrait and macro photographers, as it allows you to focus on a specific subject in a photo. The Nokia 808 PureView has SLR like bokeh thanks to its very long focal length of 8.02 mm. Typical mobile phone cameras have a focal length of 4 mm.
The longer the distance between your subject and the background, the more powerful the bokeh effect. For the optimal bokeh effect, the subject should be less than 0.5 metres away from the camera.
VIDEO
You can select video mode from the top right of the screen when the phone is in camera mode.
By selecting Continuous autofocus at the bottom left of the screen, the video camera will automatically track the subject located in the center frame. You can also tap the screen to select and lock an area of focus.
Under lower-lighting conditions, you can also use the additional LED video light, which is useful up to a distance of approximately one meter.
You can select between three different resolutions(including FullHD) for shooting video – all of which have lossless zoom that can be operated by
sliding your finger across the screen.

Zynga's Hit Games Heading To Nokia Lumia's And Other Windows Phone Devices
Heard of Words With Friends and Draw Something games? These are hit games from Zynga, a social network game development company (makers of CityVille, Zynga Poker, FarmVille, CastleVille, and Hidden Chronicles, world famous Facebook Games) located in San Francisco, California that were about to be ported to Nokia Lumia line of devices.
For a two-month period following launch, the titles will be available only through 'Nokia Collection' to Nokia consumers, after which both games will be made available to all Windows Phone consumers via Marketplace.
The announcement underlines Nokia's focus on delivering great, exclusive app and gaming experiences to Nokia Lumia consumers around the world. With 100,000 apps available today in Windows Phone Marketplace, Zynga's Words With Friends and Draw Something will join other great mobile gaming experiences available on the Windows Phone platform.
After launching in February 2012, Draw Something quickly and organically grew to become an international hit. The game is built for collaboration between friends -- one player draws a picture of a chosen word and the other must guess the word correctly before taking their turn at drawing. Players earn coins by guessing pictures correctly and can earn new shades of color to draw even brighter, more eye-popping pictures. Draw Something recently launched in 12 additional languages. At its launch, Draw Something for Windows Phone will be available in Traditional and Simplified Chinese as well as English.
Words With Friends is a word building game that challenges players to create the highest-scoring words while playing against family and friends or random opponents. Players can be engaged in up to 20 games at once and are able to communicate with each other through an in-game chat feature. Words With Friends is a part of the With Friends franchise of mobile social games by Zynga.
We might also find other famous game titles going Nokia Lumia and Windows Phones way in the coming months.

Windows Phone 8's Hype, Starts
A few days ago, leakers gave a few exciting tidbits on the upcoming Windows Phone 8, today at Windows Phone Summit in San Francisco, Microsoft and Nokia unveiled a few more marking the beginning of a long period ballyhoo of today's most electrifying Operating System in the mobilephone space.
It cannot be denied that of all the Operating System at the moment, iOS and Android have not move significantly forward, Symbian and Blackberry had substantial improvements but not enough to cause a stir, while the rest went stealth, Windows Phone on the other hand grew thrillingly giving the coolest and the most futuristic user experience of all. Hands down to the people behind the OS, a huge shift in momentum continues, all due to the unwavering hard work of people in Redmond.
Anyways, I love the new start screen among the rest of the new applications and services that Microsoft brought to the table. Nokia's new Marketplace apps on the other hand were promising like the digital Camera Extras that brings new possibilities to existing Lumia devices including panorama shots, a self-timer, Action Shot for capturing movement and Smart Group Shot for creating the perfect group shot from several different images; new features for Nokia Drive and Nokia Transport; and also pattern of updates like WiFi tethering and flip-to-silence, among the rest.
I just hope they were able to fixed few basic things as mentioned in my past articles. For instance, more customization like background image integration on the live tiles, theme system, integration of personal message alert tone, etc. I was looking also for DiVX support; elimination of Zune system's video conversion to WMV before it can be transferred to the phone; improvement of its less adjustable Music player with no option to create playlist directly to the phone; among others.
Anyways, looking forward to know more about Windows Phone 8, its shaping up to be the Operating to beat!

Reserve A Nokia 808 PureView At A Nearby Nokia Flagship Stores Now!
A quick response here from Nokia Philippines, yesterday, I wrote about the phone being removed from CMK website due to unavailability of units (read the story here), now they tweeted via their official @NokiaPilipinas account that the phone is nearly on sale with reservations being accepted in Nokia Flagship stores across the country.
I believe they need to initiate reservation because they only have limited stocks at hand, being so confirmed by another tweet announcing the availability of more stocks in July.
Well at least they were doing something to fast tract the phones market availability, it’s been almost 4 months since its announcement at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, now it had out pass the media frenzy with new phones being announced left and right. Why can’t Nokia imitate what Apple and Samsung are doing with their phones, iPhone 4S and Galaxy S3 were both release in the market within 2-4 weeks after announcement with a support from two of the country’s biggest network, Smart and Globe.
Anyways, the official standard price of the phone is PhP26,590 with no specific date of release just yet for reserved ones. It would be much appreciated as well if the phone will be offered by either Globe or Smart for installment plans.

Now all they have to do is offer the flagship Nokia Lumia 900 to further derail Smart Telecom off the competition. I'm really amazed how slow Smart is in offering their promised Lumia series, are they somehow burning ropes and just gave up on the postpaid race? Just asking. Globe outsmart Smart, again!

Nokia 808 PureView, Pulled out in Stores?
It was just three days ago when online mobilephone shop CMK posted the availability of Nokia 808 PureView on their site, now they scraped it off the list foiling a claim that it is officially available in the Philippines.
My mind was in frenzy when I've read about its availability, in one side, of thinking of ways to scout for funds fast so I can buy myself one ahead of everyone else, on the other, of facing a reality that the phone is beyond impossibility, that I definitely can't raise that amount in a year or so relying on my salary alone. There can never be more crazier than these, mind you!
Anyways, back to the store, according to the SMS I received from them, the Nokia 808 PureView is temporarily unavailable because there supplier cannot get more units. Well, I want to believe that they run out of available units other than Nokia preventing them from selling it ahead of the July launched. Either ways, I still commend them from pressing an early availability, its should have been what Nokia had done with a super hot phone like Nokia 808 PureView, to make it available to the public a.s.a.p after announcement like other manufacturers does with there high end phones.

Nokia’s Symbian 60 Remains the Number 1 Operating System in the Philippines
Symbian 60 remains undefeated when in the Philippines’s Operating System usage, that’s according to StatCounter Global Stats, a free online visitor’s stats tool that primarily measures internet usage trends. By following over 15 billion page views per month across their network of over 3 million website and analysing every page view using useragent strings, StatCounter could determine the browser and operating system used and including those that came from a mobile device. In other words, the counter only relies on web browsing rather than an individual device count but pretty much definitive as the usage trend seems reflective to the country’s physical landscape as majority of the people you see in the streets carries a Nokia phone.
A lot of factors play behind the result of course, it could be that the operating system is now being pushed towards entry level and mid-range that the mass market prefers to buy smartphone than pc or laptops to access the internet; or that Symbian is being used to a wide range of devices with district form factors and design fitting to individual needs; among the rest, but either ways, success reflects an efficient marketing strategy.
I also believe it’s difficult to defeat Nokia in a country where its populace grew with it. A lot of the prime users at the moment were born with a Nokia phone on their side, with a guaranteed satisfaction on devices and unwavering services offered, Nokia could stood the test of time.
But then again Nokia should not take its competitors into stride; they must be in front view of in creating new and breakthrough technologies. The strong filiation of Filipinos to the company could change as time passed by. They must protect this by creating devices that best address individualities and services that befits Filipino culture and tradition. Nothing is permanent in this world other than CHANGE!

Nokia 808 PureView, The Inclusive Apps
Or should I say the unofficial inclusive applications of a Nokia 808 PureView having use a prototype version of the phone. These apps could be changed or removed in the final software version but nonetheless still worth featuring on the blog.
I didn't have enough time though to open all since I have to cover 3 other phones but somehow I’m already familiar with some of them.
1. Silent Film Director
The name of the app speaks for itself, it’s a kind of application that would allow users to create a movie or video directly on the phone. With its superior camcorder feature, the phone is a potent device for making independent films and movies. Well, I'm seriously considering to make one if I get to own the phone, I'm a big movie fan and it would be best to challenge my artistic self every ones in a while.
2. DLNA Play
Still related to the phones ability to shoot excellent still images and videos, the app allows easy syncing and playing of files to any DLNA compatible devices and share them to a wider audience. Oh well, I don't have any of these devices in the house so I probably won't be able to use it.
3. Joikuspot
The phone has the Joikuspot application that allows the phone to become a Hotspot and share its data connection to other WIFI capable devices. This is a third party application and sold individually to other Symbian device, I'm not sure if it will be offered free on the phone. Joikuspot is Symbian’s answer to the tethering capability of iPhones and select Windows Phone and Android devices.
4. Angry Birds
5. Asphalt 6
6. Block Breaker
7. Bounce
8. Let’s Golf 2
Quite a number of games on the phone, these made the kid part of me very happy but I'm not sure if they are full versions of the game. I predict that I can only play at least two of these games religiously. I don't really play much on my phones lately except in really boring circumstances.
Well, that’s about it folks! Then again I have to remind everyone that the phone is not the retail version so there might be a lot of changes on the apps line-up. Looking forward to try all of this individually given a chance or when I get to buy one in the future. (Cross my finger!)

Nokia 808 PureView, The Two Hour Encounter
It's not very obvious that I'm head over heels longing for this phone ever since it was announced at the Mobile World Congress 2012. For someone who relies on a handy cameraphone to scout and capture blog stories, the monstrous 41MP carrying Nokia 808 PureView is heaven sent.
First Impression, most probably the only blog post thats adequate enough for a two hour encounter, but nonetheless, I'm very thankful that I had the chance, not everyone is given a moment to play around with the phone at this early stage. Also, the unit that I tried was a Prototype, meaning it wasn't the final version software-wise other than the hardware so I could only share limited information about it, but hopefully I will be able to get a review unit very soon.
So let’s begin with the Hardware...
The Nokia 808 PureView is one of the most beautiful phones I've seen up close. It was made to draw people’s attention with its intricate design and construction. The white version looks gorgeous and classy up front with its deep black screen facade brought about by the ClearBlack Display technology and the white frame that surrounds it, while the back part imparts an excellent design spectacle. Nokia designers were able to come up with a perfect and artsy guise to complement the thick and protruding 41MP camera to the phone's overall look, an excellent move and a huge leap forward compared to the Nokia N8. The front screen display was somewhat contoured but wasn’t as curve as the display design in the Nokia N9 or the Nokia Lumia 800 that gives a pleasurable swipe.
Holding it in the hand gives a solid and elegant impression. Built quality is decent with its high grade plastic cover; sturdiness is prominent even in the absence of any metal components and its lighter to hold. If you're somehow looking for a phone with an almost perfect grip, then this is the very device on my top list. I have not hold a mobilephone as comfortable and as satisfying as the Nokia 808 PureView, the phone’s 123.9 x 60.2 x 13.9 mm dimension and curve back cover is matchless compared the confusing square design of iPhone 4S or the humongous width of the Galaxy S3.
Software and User Interface
As mentioned earlier, the phone is a prototype version but from the looks of it, the software, Symbian Belle Feature Pack 2, had already manifested a different level of user experience, a smoother, faster and fluid one compared to the current version on my Nokia N8. It was like using a greatly improved operating system; no more freezing of frames when scrolling application up and down at the menu page; no more lags in swiping Homescreen left to right; no more delays in opening apps, among others. All it had is a slick and continues handling of touch commands.
Of all the operating system in the market at the moment, only Symbian is developing internally and remarkably. I’m very positive that it can trump the top two leading OS at the moment when it comes to user interface, the iOS and Windows Phone, if it will be continuously developed. Other changes to the current version include new widgets, more interactive settings and a better system app processing.
Camera
So, just how good and worthy the camera is with its monstrous specs and features? Excellent I would say but I'm not going into details yet as the phone had again a prototype software version. This feature is highly crucial as it is the main selling point of the phone so I’ll spare it for now, but nonetheless, several sample images of the Nokia PureView's final software versions were already on the web capturing breathtakingly impressive images.
Wrap up
I was more than happy with my first encounter with the phone; it was unexpectedly exceptional in many ways. More than enough, I'm delighted that it was running Symbian because it will redeem the software from the negative impressions that hurdles it. Symbian had greatly evolved, even the fiercest detractors attest to that. It’s about time for it to take the center stage and seal its stand on the league of modern Operating Systems.
They say the phone is a breakthrough technology, well, I would like to call it a masterpiece since it will go down in history as the greatest high-end Symbian device to ever exist.

Nokia 808 PureView Comes to the Philippines in July
The award winning and most awaited camera phone of the year finally gets a July launching month in the Philippines, according to a Nokia insider. The phone had already started selling in Russia and India with several countries to follow next week, Filipinos will have to bear a month more of waiting.
I myself had been longing for the phone ever since it was announced at Mobile World Congress 2012, the 41MP Carl Zeiss camera optics had grab my full attention being a photo buff. For the record, I have never stick to a smartphone that was not camera centric and never will, camera is a huge part of my life and this blog.
No exact release date or official price yet as of the moment but Nokia Philippines promised a very competitive price for Symbian supporters, a last hurray of the legendary Operating System on high end market. Event will be held to introduce the phone locally but unlike the recent activities of the Lumia series and the Nokia N8 introduction two years ago, the aforementioned event will only be nominal, how minor is it, that we have to find out.
Aside from the high-resolution 41 megapixel sensor with high-performance Carl Zeiss optics and new pixel oversampling technology, the phone also have a full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4X lossless zoom, Nokia Rich Recording, Xenon and LED Flash, a Dolby Digital Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback, 4 inches AMOLED screen display with ClearBlack Display technology, Symbian Belle Feature Pack 1, WLAN, Bluetooth among others.
Oh well, picturesque places and cool party events ready, get set…

These latest phones have been designed to provide an incredibly rich, smartphone-like experience to consumers who want to be set free from excessive data consumption costs and short battery life. The Nokia Asha 305, Asha 306 and Asha 311 offer a new, fully re-designed touch user interface, combining the proven ease-of-use from Nokia's heritage with digital design innovations specifically fit for the purpose.
The beautifully crafted Nokia Asha 311 is a fast and fluid 3.5G capacitive touchscreen device, powered by a 1GHz processor to provide a great internet experience. Great for fast, affordable mobile internet and gaming entertainment
The new devices take full advantage of the Nokia Browser 2.0, a major recent update which uses Nokia's cloud technology to reduce data consumption by up to 90%, meaning that consumers can enjoy faster and cheaper internet access. Consumers can easily stay connected with friends and family at the touch of a button as well as share files and links across their social networks. Furthermore, the Nokia Browser's Download Manager feature helps consumers to manage external content easily, saving music, video or pictures on a memory card, while surfing the internet.
The Asha family is also getting positive support from developers and consumers. Nokia Store has just broken the 5 billion downloads landmark. From January to April, 42% of all content downloaded from Nokia Store was delivered to Asha and other Nokia devices based on the Java ecosystem. Just one year ago, that number was 10%. Also, there are 410 Nokia developers with apps which have achieved more than 1 million downloads. India Games and Pico Brothers just passed 100 million.
As well as providing a great, social online experience, the Nokia Asha 305, Asha 306 and Asha 311 have been created with entertainment in mind. All users will receive an exclusive gift of 40 EA games to download for free* and keep forever. The Nokia Asha 311 also comes with 15 levels of Angry Birds pre-loaded onto the phone, perfect for making the most of the touchscreen and 1GHz processor.
The estimated retail price for Nokia Asha 305 is EUR 63 and it's expected to start shipping in the second quarter of 2012. The estimated retail price for Nokia Asha 306 is EUR 68. The Nokia Asha 311 has an estimated retail price of EUR 92. Both devices are expected to start shipping in the third quarter of 2012. Above mentioned prices exclude taxes and subsidies.

Panagatan, A Cagayan De Oro City Seafood Restaurant
Nutrients and minerals in seafood can make improvements in brain development and reproduction and has highlighted the role for seafood in the functionality of the human body, thats according to research over the past few decades.
Fish is thought to protect the heart because eating less saturated fat and more Omega-3 can help to lower the amount of cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood – two fats that, in excess, increase the risk of heart disease. Omega-3 fats also have natural built-in anti-oxidants, which are thought to stop the thickening and damaging of artery walls. Regularly eating fish oils is also thought to reduce the risk of arrhythmia – irregular electrical activity in the heart which increases the risk of sudden heart attacks.
You can eat all your hearts out for seafood in Cagayan De Oro's premier restaurant, the Panagatan, situated along the coastline of Macajalar Bay, Opol, Misamis Occidental.
Hit
- Very accessible location, you can see the restaurant along the highway. It also have an ample parking space.
- The ambiance was superb, restaurant was along the coastline and built beneath a pristine sea waters. You can smell the warm and fresh sea breeze and enjoy the view.
- The place was very clean and spacious. You can hardly bump on somebody inside the resto. Comfort rooms were also very tidy.
Misses
- Food doesn't taste good. Of all the dish our group ordered, their was even no stellar one that stands out, they were all like regularly cooked and indistinguishable from other restaurants. Somehow they need to come up with a signature dish that could differentiate them from the rest.
- Foods were a bit expensive. You cannot find a dish below PhP200 pesos.
- Service was very, very slow, it took them almost an hour to serve all our orders. Of all the restaurants I've been to, there were like the title holder in terms of these aspect. I do hope they'll find the best way to cut customer waiting time.
- Garbage floating on the sea water. I hope they could fetched those off because it becomes an eyesore.
Well, people have different taste and liking, my opinion might be different from others and you might find this place ample for a calm and serine dining. Better check it out and see for yourself.

LG Optimus Me P350 Pep Talk! Android? Seriously? Review? Forget about it!
Let’s talk about LG Optimus Me P350 today, an Android v2.2 (Froyo) running entry level phone that was lend to me for two weeks. The phone had a promising specs and features for a mass market price, currently being sold at PhP7,000 ($160), it has a 2.8 inch LCD capacitive touchscreen display, WIFI, Bluetooth, 3.2MP camera, 24fps video camcorder, stereo FM, DIVX/Xvid player among others. It was quite a phone on spec sheet but did it live up to expectation? Read on to find out!
Normally, when I have a phone to trial, I would take my SIM off my lust green Nokia N8 and transfer it to the new device so I can get use to the phones interface, figure the phone to work my way and show it to the others so I can gather outside impressions and feedbacks, but for the very first time, I held back from doing so because I was very surprise how clunky and slow the phone was like it’s been hit by some symptoms of Parkinson's disease.
Figure this out, swipe the Homescreen to the left/right, wait for 5 seconds, it won’t respond so you have to swipe the screen again then wait for another 5 seconds. Still on the Homescreen, tap an applications, wait for 5 seconds, the app doesn’t respond so you have to tap the icon again then wait for another 5 seconds, then the app would now open but you have to wait for another 30 seconds for it load fully. How about typing an SMS using its virtual QWERTY, press one letter, wait for 3 seconds, tap another letter, wait for another 3 seconds, you’ll then notice a mistake on typing because of its cramp keypad structure, press back button and wait for another 3 more seconds, type a letter again and so on. I was like wanting to shout and burn the phone every time I use it so it’s better for me to leave the phone before I’ll get tempted to crash it.
I mean, how in their rightful state of mind can a manufacturer allow such device to be created, a device that makes people’s lives miserable? Yes its being sold affordably but they have no right to abuse people’s frailty; they must at least have the heart to give buyers the right value for their hard earn money.
Hardware
The phone is compact and sturdy even with its plastic construction. Compact because the dimension is smallish yet a little heavy when being held and sturdy because it’s quite enclose with no cover wobbles whatsoever giving solid impression to the device. Nothing much can be found on the around the phone, LG made it sure that the diminutive size was maintained by providing limited ports on top of the phone and a miniature volume rocker on the side to further compensate. Hardware design and construction was good enough overall.
Screen display and size, not in my wildest dream that a touch device with 2.8 inches screen can fit to my standard especially if the User Interface was not fitted to handle a heavy operating system such as Android. Everything was just pintsized on the phone from the cramp virtual QWERTY keypad, reduced icon sizes, to oversized Homescreen widgets, etc., in short, everything was just wrong with the phone. In terms of screen display, the TFT screen with 250Thousand color resolution comes out dull and boring, it’s like seeing a besotted window of lifelessness. Well, you can always increase the phones screen brightness to make it more lively and striking but expect a 4 hours or less battery life.
And speaking of battery, all Android phones suck in power management. As far as I’ve used the P350 (without SIM) the phones 1280mAh Li-ion battery would hardly even last a day. Oftentimes, after charging it full in the morning at around 8AM, the phone will only last until 1-2PM with the use of optimal WIFI, Games, Music player via headphone and a bit of Camera. This is not just any problem that can be ignored; it’s a serious condition on a definitive standpoint that you can’t enjoy the phone to the fullest no matter how powerful or smart it is if it’s powerless. I think it’s a mortal sin for manufacturers who does this to users.
Operating System
Android Froyo operating system (OS), fancy with all those optimizing options, but it’s a system that was created to run primarily on high end phones with 1Ghz or more processors, the P350, an entry level phone has only 580Mhz that could not handle the system well making it terrible to use. It’s like LG just throw the OS on the phone without caring much on how it works, a very tragic move.
The rest of the Android systemic features and perks were there, from Goggle Play’s huge array of applications, HTML Browser but without Adobe Flash, Push eMail, Social Network connectivity with every Social network app found on Android failing to level up with Gravity for Symbian, to a wide range of Entertainment features, more or less, not so much was missing compared to the current Android versions except that users can’t fully enjoy them because of the phone sluggish performance.
Memory and Storage
Another problem of the Android System is its multitasking management being a heavy tasker, with the phone’s internal memory storage limited to only 140MB, it can only run a few applications at a time and can install more than a handful of applications. Beyond this capability, the phone often hangs that it needs to be rebooted, while in case of installed application, it needs to be transferred to an SD card that often results also to apps crashing when being open affecting users overall experience. It’s a whole lot different with apps installed on the internal memory.
Camera and Camcorder
The phone has a casual and adequate camera for typical used, nothing special or fancy about it. Camera could work for you if you’re just fun of taking ordinary snaps and upload it directly on Facebook or Instagram and forget about it afterwards. Camcorder, don’t try wasting your precious moments using the phone, you might end up getting dark and blurry videos from it for only 30minutes before battery dries up.
Wrap-up
I guess nothing can be further said about the phone, it’s more than a waste of money if you are to ask me. There were definitely a lot of other phones on the market at the moment running low end optimized operating system that has the same price tag but can give you a whole lot better user experience and hardware, the Nokia Asha 303 for instance!
