Love Smart People

Smart Communications unveils its new mobile phones up for grabs for customers who wants to avail Postpaid Plans under Smart Gold and Smart Infinity. Another aspect in the country's Mobile Service Provider competition where Smart wins by a margin. Being able to provide the best handset with numerous choices and under reasonable plan bracket makes it more enticing to avail rather than the expensive and old units offered by the competition.

Anyways, here are some of the new 3G mobile phone units available.

1. The Nokia 3120 classic, the cream of the crop since it is offered FREE within the P800.00 bracket and has the best feature being a Symbian 40 phone with 16million color display, EDGE, Bluetooth, 2 megapixel and a secondary VGA video camera, MP3 player, Stereo FM radio among others. This is the best deal overall.
2. The Samsung L170, FREE under Plan P1,2oo.oo. This phone has great feature as well, to compare with the Nokia 3120 classic, this has a Bluetooth A2DP rather than Bluetooth alone for Nokia, a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus, Nokia has no autofocus, and its FM has RDS. This phone fell short in color display with only 256 thousand compared to the 16 million for Nokia 3120, a 1.6 inches display compared to the 2 inches display of Nokia 3120, poor design, no color variation, poor phone organizer among others.
3. Sony Ericsson W660i, FREE under Plan P1,200.00. I love the design of this phone, sleek and classy, the Gold button says it all. As compared to Samsung L170, this phone has same features except the camera with no autofocus and has a 2 inches display and a Track ID recognition capability.
4. Sony Ericsson W910i, FREE under Plan P1,800.00. Nothing much of difference compared to W660i except that it is a slider, has 2.4 inches screen display, supports EMS, QVGA video with 15 fpm and a motion sensor. I wonder why there not in the same bracket? They should be with only few added feature in W910i.

The rest of the plan are same than before. Nokia N82, my dream phone and the best phone in the world to date, is still under Plan P2,500.00 and the omnipotent N95 8GB is free under Plan P 3,500.00

Go the nearest SMART Wireless Center to apply for one and my advice, Get the Nokia 3120 classic!!

Nokia's Crown Jewel; Love N96

The mobile world is excited in the coming of Nokia's new crown jewel, the Nokia N96.
The most power pack phone to be released in the market by September this year. The feature of this phone are yet unparalleled as to usability, practicality and affordability. Bearing a price of only $699, this will sweep every competitors on its way. (Just don't rush to the pre-order sites, price of this phone is around $1,200 in those sites, wait for the market price)

Nokia N96 is the real deal among the upcoming devices, being introduced with a power pack feature. To start with, the mobile phone will house a WIFI with DLNA, the first mobile phone to have such, this will be the benchmark of all upcoming WIFI mobile phones. This is the only phone to carry a dual processor also, same to that of computers, expect a faster interface, more battery life among other benefits to be gained using this system, another first from the mobile world market leader. The integration of DVB-H TV broadcast receiver, A-GPS receiver, 5 megapixel Carl Ziess optics camera will be a huge combination. All of this feature have been present in the past N series phone but this was the first time that it was combined into one device, a bold and smart move for Nokia. Other best features are the HSDPA 3.5G, 16 million color display, 2.8 inches size display, accelerometer for auto rotate, Bluetooth A2DP, 8GB micro SD capable aside from the 16GB internal memory, another remarkable first, huge, huge memory to spend. The phone will inherit the dual slide feature of N95, that would mean dedicated media buttons for music, video and television player. Nokia continues its streak of par excelance featured mobile phones.
The phone has become my obsession ever since I've learn about it. Since this phone will be release by September, expect the price to go with the hype. The price is expected to run around the $699, and will definitely go down after 6 months. It is only then than I can afford to buy one. For now my attention is getting Nokia N82 Black, and probably by weekends I can bring one home.

Panorama, The Most Love Nokia 6120 Classic Feature

I have recently discovered this new feature of Nokia 6120 Classic, the Panorama Mode which can allow you to take picture in a panorama showing more angles or extending the view of the picture than that of the regular size picture. It's fun using this feature, it gives you more flexibility and style, more like of a professional, more than the norm.

Here are some of my sample pictures taken from Nokia 6120 Classic. To access it, open the camera menu, go to options button then select Panorama Mode from the options. More of this kind of pictures in my upcoming blogs as well as new discoveries and capabilities that Nokia 6120 Classic have.
Home sweet home, This is my first picture using the Panorama Mode. I took this picture starting from the front of my laptop then moving to my right. The image looks good and wide spread. A defining moment in my photography life and experience.
This is the Cagayan De Oro City Hall, I was able to stretched the view to the right showing the building in front of the hall. More view, more scene, more informative, much better.
The Caterpillar Boutique at the Limketkai Mall, Cagayan De Oro City, Bold and Brink.
Gaisano City Mall Cagayan De Oro, Wide and Stretch. Not a good angle here (inset, banner on top) please bare with me on this, I'm afraid that the phone might get snatched and this is the safest place to take pictures. c",

Nokia 2600; Love Affordable

The other day, we have a family bonding with my mom, sister and niece. I'm off duty from work so it was a perfect opportunity and since I haven't treat them for quite sometime.

More special for my mom though, I decided to buy her a new phone. She was using a Nokia 1100 for quite sometime now and I thought its high time for her to upgrade. I got her a Nokia 6120 classic as a surprise gift a month ago but unfortunately she didn't like it because the keys, text fonts and icons were small and its complicated to use for a 60 year old so she gave the phone to my younger sister.

This time I let her choose and among the phones presented by the sales representative, she was lovestruck by the newly release Nokia 2600 classic. It was indeed attractive, its slim, sturdy and very comfortable to hold. The key buttons were nicely spaced, has big text fonts, bright colored screen, loud speaker and best of all, itsaffordable. With the price of just Php4,200, the device already carries good specs and features like 65,000 color screen resolution, Polyphonic and MP3 tones, Bluetooth, VGA camera capable of taking still pictures and video, Java support, FM Stereo among others. Talking about best value for the money.
Definitely the phone device that suite my moms needs. Right now she's undergoing tutorials to familiarize all the phone's features and applications and she's learning fast because of its user friendly interface, typical for Nokia devices. c",

She's really happy with the phone, I can tell, she cook my favorite food that night, Crab curry.

The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is the latest installment in the Batman series, and to date the best and the most successful. I saw the movie yesterday in Geege Megamall, Ozamis City with my sister, a movie fanatic like me and we booth enjoyed it.

Being a superhero genre movie, the film never failed to deliver the desired thrill, action and suspense needed to complete the whole package, it even exceed my expectation of it being able to watch the earlier versions of the film where I find most of them funny and amusing.

The rave reviews that came out regarding the film are all true, it was indeed a very good, well refined and worthy of praise. The special effects, storyline, cinematography, the actors, Heath Ledger specially, scenery among others are at its best. It was because of this good reviews that the movie gain so much attention from moviegoers making the film record breaking in the box office. This were only among the reasons why I was excited seeing the film.

The main reason why I watch the film though was because I've learned that a Nokia touchscreen device was featured in the film. Leaks didn't elaborate more about it but they say it will surely make mobile phone lovers happy and?!? it was indeed a very cool and sleek touchscreen device used by Morgan Freeman and Batman in the movie. The device looks even better when lit up, the orange or reddish back light illuminates the screen and the side part of the phone. I believe the side of the device has a strip of transparent material that illuminates with the screen when the device was used. Its really cool believe me c",

Now the mobile world was rampage with questions, gasping for answers, the name of the phone, what its capable of, features etc. Speculations came out left and right afterwards. They say it was the Nokia Tube Xpressmedia, a rumored touchscreen device with 3.2 Megapixel Carl Zeiss, Wifi, 3G, etc. while some believe it was the Nokia N98, the flagship touchscreen device of Nokia that sports a 7 Megapixel camera, Carl Zeiss optics with zenon, DIVX among other great features. Well we have an iPhone killer on the loose this time? Hhhhmmm?

I know your curious as well regarding this info, see the movie as well to find out and share your thoughts about it. What is it Nokia? Care to share information? c",

Davao City, Love Struck

Good Day Fellow Bloggers, Friends
Thank you for visiting my blog again.

As a treat, I'm going to take you to one of the largest city in the world and the Durian capital of the Philippines, Davao City. I love durian that's why I've been loving this place ever since.

Davao City is a sprawling metropolis located at the south side part of the island Mindanao, Philippines. It is one of the largest city in the world with a land area of 2,443 square kilometers. Huge and bless with natural resources, friendly people, booming businesses and trading hubs and by date the safest city in the Philippines.

Davao offers several tourist attractions:
Pearl Farm and Paradise Island, few of the cities 5 star beach resorts. Crocodile Farm, Philippine Eagle Park, Mount Apo among others. Definitely a place where the luxuries of cosmopolitan living complement the beauty of great outdoors.
The picture on the left is the Davao City Hall.

How to reached Davao:
Davao City can be access through plane, an International Airport serves local and international flights, check the websites of Philippine Airlines, Cebu Pacific and Air Philippines for their respective schedules and fares. Several shipping companies serves route trip to Davao from Manila and Cebu, among them, the countries biggest, Sulpicio Lines, Negros Navigation and Superferry, access their websites for informations on schedules and fares. The cheapest and the most enjoyable way though is through bus trip, I'm going to feature my land trip in my future blog.

For now, let us enjoy the beauty and scenery of Davao City.

Places to Stay:
To the left is the city's prestige 5star hotel, The Marco Polo Hotel. Just within the city proper area, it becomes the ideal place of stay for 1st timers because it can easily be located and those who wants comforts and luxury but with a hefty price of course. Check their website for the room rates. http://davao.marcopolohotels.com

Another 5star hotel that caters luxurious and comfortable service is the Royal Mandaya Hotel. One of the most remarkable site in Davao being one of the tallest building, the hotel is just within the downtown area as well and very accessible to all modes of transport. Room rates are a bit expensive to ranging from 4thou-20thou per night. Check their web page for details.
www.royalmandaya.com

Another great hotel in Davao is the Apo View Hotel. This was actually the venue of our seminar. The hotel is within the city proper also, closest hotel to Gaisano Mall Ilustre among other shops and restaurants. I've been inside the hotel and for me it is par luxurious and descent like any other top class hotels.

This is the Ballroom A of Apo View Hotel and as you can see, it has a classy ambiance, a well trained staff who serves us food and snacks but I don't think their food taste great, its just okay and forgettable c",

If your looking for an affordable place to stay, check out Avenflor Inn were I stayedc", They have descent air conditoned rooms with cable television and toilet for as low as P500.00 per day.

Places to Shop:
SM City Davao, on the left picture. The most prominent mall in the Philippines which houses tons of shops. SM by the way has malls in most of the major cities in the Philippines.

Tip: Buy all your "pasalubong" in the department store of this mall bacause the prices are cheaper plus the fact that they sell quality products.

Inside SM City Davao, flunked by hundreds of shoppers from all walks of life.

Gaisano Mall of Davao is also one of the biggest mall in the city. The hippest as well, look at the color of their building, combination of cool yellow and pink. Ambiance is okay, has several shops, restaurants among others.

Finally, the Victoria Plaza, a mall with a long pass of prestige from the biggest and hippest mall of the 90's to being an old dangling mall now a days, these mall have really lost its glory. Management should do something about it before they will self destruct. Upgrade and repair must be done with its amenities. You can buy bargains in this mall though but be aware of fake goods.

Places to Visit:
Several actually but since I've been here for a short time, I wasn't really able to visit other tourist spots except within the city.

The Peoples Park, one of the most beautiful park I've visited. Not only that it gives people a place to relax but also a place to exercise. Every morning, a free aerobics class is conducted here sponsored by the local government. A health bliss worth recognizing.

The Magsaysay Durian Hub is the center of durian trading in the city. It is where you can buy delicious durian at a low price. You can even eat fresh durian here, they have tables and chairs just intended for this like in restaurants.

Did you know that its more delicious to eat durian with coke? It leaves a unique taste, you cant describe. Vendors here will actually recommend this combination. Try it yourself c",

Tip: Don't buy "pasalubong" here specially candies, jams etc. the price here is expensive. Best buy is in Malls and Department Stores.

Then the St. Joseph cathedral that serves devoted Catholics in the city. This cathedral is fronting the Davao City Hall thus can be easily located.

Did you know that theirs a lot of Tagalog and Illongo in Davao? Their were even a lot of flights serving the Iloilo to Davao route. This just shows how numerous Ilongo are and how diverse this place is.

Worth noting as well is the peace and order of this city. Crime rates here are very low, kudos to the local government unit and the Philippine National Police for doing there job. This city became a viable city for business and pleasure.

To wrap things up. I will definitely recommend this place to everyone. I myself will return here in the future to visit places I haven't been to and their were many of them.

Hope you learn something from this Blog.
Tell next time

Again, Thank You!
