After the meet and greet with Nokia's Flagship ESeries device and harboring a positive first impression as laid out on my article two days ago, my Day 1 with the E75 was all tinkering and discovering as it was again another whole new mobilephone experience for me as it carries a Symbian 60 version 3 Feature Pack 2 User Interface (UI) and a hard line business set up. I never have a phone with this UI before, though it has a close resemblance to that of N82's, everything on it feels different, unearth and untamed.

First hour was spent on propping and familiarization as it has a different icon compositions and groupings. I find the set up rather confusing as most of my favorite icons like Web, Camera, Music, N-Gage, among others were hidden deeply on sub folders and scattered everywhere that it took me several minutes to locate even the simplest Bluetooth icon, a necessary application to launch the Switch button feature that allows an easy transfer of Contacts, Messages, Images, Calendar Entries, etc. between two compatible device. I reiterate here again that this function is the most valuable non basic feature of a mobile device, unparalleled.

I was interrupted by a pet talked with my friends on Yahoo Messenger, it was all meet and greet stuff with small funny and odd topics squeeze in, though big part of it is of course the official unveiling of my new phone to them. I don't think its being boisterous, wasn't it, but the phone was really worth showing so I did not hesitate. c", Anyways, the conversations took for about 3 hours long ending our conversation at almost 1PM with me forgetting my Lunch.

Wrote my first impression of the phone, again, another nose bleeding experience, but I have a liter of Blood Bag hooked on me this time so I didn't experience fainting due to excessive lose of blood during the process, ;-) and yes, I've been learning.

Launch the operation Icon Customize which is inevitable, the set up was to confusing enough and I'm not planning to loss common sense at the end of the day. Common Folders that I set up were Start Up, for the application that can be found on the Homescreen, Video Folder for everything video related, Music Folder for everything Audio, Internet Folder for Web Browsers among all related widgets, Camera Folder, then Games with N-Gage icon on it, among the rest of the applications belonging to each group transferred and accounted for.
New to the Menu Group where the Office and Help folders dropping the Social IM because it cant be accommodated anymore since the Help folder exist that cannot be transferred of removed and that I'm sticking to the 9 icon Menu set up. I also wrote my first Word Document on a mobilephone during this time just for a heck of it as it was something that I never did before, my very first access to a fully licensed QuickOffice application, yey!
The next few hours was spent with download of my most used 3rd party application like Gravity, PixelPipe, Opera Mini 5, Skyfire, Bolt, ScreenShot, Nimbuzz and youTube. Worth mentioning in this accord is the absence of compatible Ovi Store Client specifically for E75. I find this quite odd actually with a phone being regarded as the Flagship ESeries and yet was left without a Store Client compatibility, a very critical aspect in the current track lists of competitiveness. Yes, Ovi Store can be access using the phones web browser but I don't think its as fast and as interactive as the real client. I hope Nokia can address this problem very soon.

I was ready to write my very first Tweet on the E75. I have discovered how fun it was to tweet and text using QWERTY keyboard. Makes everything so easy and fast. The Gravity experience is not as savvy as that of the 5530 XM were there are flick scrolls incorporated but having a mechanical QWERTY really makes a big difference and that makes N97, N97 Mini or N900 a very ideal device for the said application, you got to enjoy the best of both worlds.

Off to more device and setting discovery and trying every possible applications. Did you know that its fun snapping the device slider back and forth and that you can assign a tones for its opening and closing maneuver, another weird stuff I know, but its really worth mentioning. And there is a Switch Mode icon that can be found on the shortcut bar, it functions as a switcher between two Modes, Personal and Work with each bearing a unique set of Homescreen shortcut icons with Work Mode having business favored applications like Messaging, Email, Web, Maps, Internet Telephone and Active notes among the shortcut keys while Personal Mode have applications sets for personal use and entertainment, a very good application here for people who wants to segregate Personal stuffs from Work.
More of something unique, the DPAD of this phone beams light every now and then which I find very cool to look at, its like a living being that breaths light instead of air. The buttons beside the keypads where quite cramp though. There were a lot of times that I get to press the wrong key, like when you pressing the left or right action keys that opens Menu or Delete icons instead, quite annoying at first but I believe I'll get use to it in the long run but nothing to chide about for Nokia, they must have added something to differentiate the conjured buttons like maybe elevating the other side like those that can be seen in the Nokia E55's T9 keypad.
To sum things up, First Day with the device was very positive so far, I know there were still a lot of things left uncovered, more of the best features than negative I guess, so better stick around for my Day 2 Journal to unveil more of what was looming to be the best phone that I own so far or maybe not. Stay Tuned! c",
