Clarin, Misamis Occidental, Philippines is a well known place for its delicious "Suman", a local Filipino dish of sticky rice locally called "Pilit", wrapped in banana or coconut leaves. It was a very common dish mostly made anywhere in the archipelago but Clarin made a distinction.
It wasn't quite known when it achieve its status according the the local folks but the method of how it became known was rather simple, word by mouth, disseminated by visitors who comes to Clarin during Town Fiesta's as this delicacy was always part of the main course. It must have been quite awhile, now the town is being visited by people around the region just to taste this, a huge fleet to be proud of.
One of the most prominent site to buy one is at the House of Suman, strategically located at the highway crossing the entrance of the town, a landmark you can't hardly miss when cruising the Ozamis to Dipolog route. Its a One Stop Shop administered by the Local Government of Clarin where you can find all the best and tastiest Suman with several variety, supplied by the local residents. The price is cheap and you can even eat your hearts out without spending a fortune. The shop also offers other locally made delicacies. Yeah Suman is a very yummy and delicious dish of Philippines...I come across dish when my friend invite me in his marriage to Philippines...When i ate this for the first time i fell in love with its taste...
