Poker and Nokia N82 ~ SCRATCH e-PAD!

Unusual combination isn’t it but the world has gone mad for me this past few days as I’ve been beset by an addiction, Poker on my N82. It started with curiosity over the games seemingly increased hype on television hooking up just about anybody even Hollywood stars and it so happen that my cousin brought a poker set in one of our family gathering that I took the chance of asking him how to play the game. He taught me the basic rules like card combinations among others, then came the realization that it was challenging and fun to play since you have to fool around with your co-players , in short, it’s a fools game among fools with a tinge of wit.

To hone your skills in this game, you need to practice how to read and predict cards and since I’m kinda busy stripping around my work, I only have in-between breaks in a day to poke around so the inevitable has to be done, I need to download and install Poker games on my 24 hour companion, my Nokia N82 mobilephone! The first thing that comes to mind was World Series of Poker Pro Challenge over at N-Gage but since I can’t buy the code here, I need to beg around my Nokia tech friends around the globe for a code, fortunately Zick has 10 N-Gage code to share and gave me one, I hate you Zick! You should have give me at least 3 haha kidding!

Anyways the game was made by GLU and it was fairly good, has a feature where you can build your career or basic mode where you can practice, etc. It was basically great in graphics, the table set up was welcoming, control mechanism was easy and the face to face with your opponent set up, poker stars with seemingly real facial expression on given situations was terrific but then it’s only a one on one setting so it’s not that challenging, you will know their techniques and style easily and gauge their vulnerability. It was actually too easy that I have now as much as $610,000 in my virtual account that leads me to find a new game to poke with.

Then I came across a game in Ovi Store from Gameloft that I can download for free, a promotion of Ovi Store here in the APAC region among other 10 games, the Texas Hold’Em Poker. Graphics wise, it wasn’t as great as that of the N-Gage and you can only see a top shot of the table while playing eliminating the fun of poker face unlike the other but the game set up was terrific, you got to play with as much as 9 opponents making the game very challenging and unpredictable. I find myself succumbed with difficulty even in Easy rounds that I only reach the third round yet after a few days of playing with it. What’s difficult about it specially in the Career mode play is that it’s difficult to raise money that will qualify you to the next round since you need to bet everything you have and once you lose in that round, you have to start from square one all over the again. You really have to be careful in the game and you really need to be smart, luck won’t take you nowhere. This set up makes it a semi perfect tool in honing judgment skills, perhaps the best yet, I strongly believe that once you beat the game, you become a pro in the outside world and you can make millions out of it, a bold statement! c”,

I can also cite the game as the semi best tool for starters, it has a feature where you can take basic lessons about the game, teach you styles and advice you what to do in a given situation, all you need to do is take this advices and apply in practice.

Well, I don’t know where this situation takes me but I find it very interesting at the moment, maybe in a few days time, I got to join my cousin again in playing poker with his buddies, let’s see if I have learn and improve my skills.
