Nokia announced another member of its Dual SIM, Dual Standby phone line-up, the Nokia X1-01, a twin brethren of Nokia X1-00 and like its predecessor, it is a music royalty capable of delivering 106phon undistorted sound via its massive speaker on the back.
As explained on my Nokia X1-00 post before, phon is a unit of perceived loudness and 106 is currently the highest among mobile phone, meaning, it is the loudest, very much enough to serve as a makeshift home-entertainment system. And not only that, it is also the clearest speaker in the market having been tweaked by Nokia to produce less distortion on high volume. With its 43 days of Standby time, up to 36 hours of music playback, strong music support feature with the likes of a 3.5mm audio jack, three dedicated player keys, a single-key playlist creator, integrated FM Radio and a MicroSD card support for music storage up to 16GB storing a thousand songs, it could be regarded as a music mean machine.
Other noteworthy feature includes a flashlight on the top, storing settings of up to five separate SIM cards customizing each SIM its own logo, music signature or ringtone, Ovi Life Tools in selected markets bringing news, market prices, entertainment, health advice and education services to people who are likely to find it difficult to get these things in other ways among others.
The Nokia X1-01 will ship this quarter in India, China, South-East Asia/Pacific region, Middle East and Africa, Eurasia and Brazil. Before local taxes or subsidies, the X1-01 will cost €34, that's PhP2075 locally.
