After being battered with a Seat Sale Promotion launched by Cebu Pacific from October 9-12, 2009 (Selling Date), the countries premiere passenger carrier, Philippine Airlines (PAL) answered back to cap of the tail end 2009, launching an identical domestic low price seat sale covering all domestic routed in the country.
PAL launch the More For Less Promo last October 16, 2009 covering a ticket price as low as Php888 for the PAL Express Flight to as much Php2,200 for PAL Flights covering Luzon to Mindanao routes marking a 40% drop from the original ticket rate. This has to be the cheapest fare rate drop so far from the countries leading carrier after posting a record loss created by the vicious advances from Cebu Pacific Air.
This is the best option that PAL could do, for a triffid occasional passenger like me, I just couldn't imagine buying PAL tickets when I'm going to Manila when I can get Cebu Pacific tickets a quarter cheaper than what they are offering.
Yes, PAL have great services and bigger planes but when it comes to costs and price, this would really not matter unless maybe for a few percentage of Filipinos, the so called rich and can afford, but then comes reality, this people where only a few as 5% overall so its not rather business friendly.
