Is the rumored N87 my longed phone dubbed as Nokia Superman? There was a rumor last September that a superphone with a Snapdragon processor, 12MP camera with Multitouch capability and Sense UI is in the works, well it seemed that it has surface from the ground works via a video posted in YouTube, a nearly similar feature or even better differentiating on the processor use as it has an ARM with 600mHz speed rather than a 1gHz Snapdragon.
What’s better about it this time was the presence of an Ultrabright Xenon Flash, something unexpected as Nokia release a statement before that N82 will be there very last device carrying the said feature. If this were true indeed, I'm glad that Nokia reverse their decision and finally embrace the clamor of the raging public, Xenon is the best thing that happened on mobile phone photography and it has to live through. On personal thought, I can finally say that a worthy successor of N82 has finally been created.
Another great addition was the AMOLED screen, I have been lusting for this feature since the announcement of N85, now it has finally aligned with a camera centric touch device, my kind of devices.
Multitouch UI is the fav nowadays, it’s the least important among the features presented for N87, I don’t really think that this feature is helpful in general unless you’re a touch fanatic which I'm not, yes I like touch UI mainly because its better when it comes to browsing but I still prefer buttons in a lot of situation particularly when texting or typing which I do a lot by the way on my phone.
Therefore, the answer to the question if N87 is my Nokia Superman I'm waiting for, it’s not, N87 doesn't have a mechanical button on it, very reason why it doesn't attract me much. If only Nokia added a QWERTY button on it in a candy bar form factor, movie maker, picture editor like Photoshop, I would have call it the greatest phone ever built but it’s not therefore my quest for my longed phone continues.
A good start though, I know it will only be a matter of time before my dream phone will be realized, just a matter of time.
