As always, Nokia is getting fiddly again to the mass market by introducing two budget friendly efficient phones, the social networking and music oriented QWERTY Nokia X2-01 and the style oriented 3G capable Nokia C2-01.
Nokia X2-01
The Nokia X2-01 sports a full QWERTY keypad and the new Communities application that integrates Facebook making it a very able social networking device. Users can directly see friends updates directly from the homescreen and post own updates and photos. The phone connects to the web via GPRS and EDGE.
Being an Xseries device, it is music oriented with a direct access to music, media player, FM radio with RDS and Ovi Music services. The phone plays MP4, H.263 videos and MP3, WMA, WAV, eAAC+ music files.
The Nokia X2-01 is going to be available in time for Christmas and will be tagged at around PhP4,600 to PhP4,800 (€80) before local taxes.
Nokia C2-01
Like the other CSeries phones launched earlier, the device offers something special to wherever it will be positioned in the market, it is no less than the cheapest 3G phone among the entry level devices bringing a fast data service to millions of people. The SMS and chat messages are displayed in a conversational (threaded) view, feature that can be seen only in high end devices. The device comes also with Nokia Messaging for email and instant messaging.
Other features incorporated, 3.2-megapixel camera with 2048x1536 pixels, music player that supports MP3, WMA, WAV, eAAC+ files, Stereo FM radio with RDS, media player that plays MP4 and H.263 files. Phone can handle memory cards up to 16GB and will come with the Ovi Life Tools service.
The phone is going to be available in time for Christmas and will be tagged at around PhP4,300 to PhP4,500 (€75) before local taxes.
