Cagayan De Oro City, Longing Love

Cagayan De Oro, the city of Golden Friendship is located along the northern coastline of Mindanao, Philippines. It is the regional center and a booming city both for business and pleasure. Ever since I've graduated from high school way back in 1997, their have been many developments in this city, I was actually amazed by it, knowing how this city looks like 10 years ago and to what it had become right now, really breathtaking. I would even say it developed faster than Cebu City and Davao City.

I'm going to discuss how to access this city in my upcoming blogs, for now let us enjoy the scenery of the city, far and beyond.

The city's seat of power, the Cagayan De Oro City Hall.
Don't be deceive, the facade, inset picture is just the tip of the iceberg. If your wondering how the city works with just this small two story building, mark my work, it does, the secret is inside, visit this place to find out.

Gaston Park, a city landmark. Located just a few steps away form the City Hall and from the Saint Agustine Cathedral. This place have been a major destination for people who wants to relaxed during weekends, the huge fountain explains it all.

Plaza Divisoria, another important city landmark. This park was dedicated to national heroes of the country with several statue erected. Nowadays, this park is famous being the venue of Night Market, a weekend overnight shopping event. Being surrounded by food chains, banks, coffee shops among others, this place became a people magnet.

San Agustine Cathedral, the city's spiritual center, majority of the people here are Roman Catholics which comprises for about 75% of the total population.

Shopping:

The city's Biggest Mall in terms of leasable area, The Limketkai Mall. The mall houses the Plaza Fair Department Store and the Robinson's Department Store. The city has several big malls. Shopping will never be a problem in this city. Inset image is the facade..Huge and Accessible.

Inside Limketkai Mall, Attractive and Colorful, Huge Space.

The Grand Caprice, one of the most expensive chinese fine dining restaurant in the city. Grand, For Rich People Only, To Unreachable.

Robinson's Cagayan De Oro, an extension to the Limketkai Mall yet different and unique. Stands with his own style, with his own prowess.

Another big mall that shoppers will droll about, Gaisano City Mall, their were several Gaisano Malls in the city, 4 to be exact and this was their biggest. Accessible and Cheap.

Inside the Gaisano City Mall, Small and Full.

Ororama Megacenter, the lost glory. Once known to be one of the best in the city, now it houses small shops that were selling fake DVD, cellphones, among others. Quite disturbing this place have become. Old and Fake Haven.

SM City Cagayan De Oro, the countries premier mall. Far and Famous. I will be featuring more images of this mall as well as the early mentioned in my upcoming blogs under Love Malls.

Among the other tourist attraction of the city are the White Water Rafting along the Cagayan De Oro River. Malasag Ecotourism Village, nature at its best, Macahambus Cave and Gorge, an underground cave with circular gorge, breathtaking and picturique among others.
