Nokia 808 PureView Comes to the Philippines in July

The award winning and most awaited camera phone of the year finally gets a July launching month in the Philippines, according to a Nokia insider. The phone had already started selling in Russia and India with several countries to follow next week, Filipinos will have to bear a month more of waiting.

I myself had been longing for the phone ever since it was announced at Mobile World Congress 2012, the 41MP Carl Zeiss camera optics had grab my full attention being a photo buff. For the record, I have never stick to a smartphone that was not camera centric and never will, camera is a huge part of my life and this blog.

No exact release date or official price yet as of the moment but Nokia Philippines promised a very competitive price for Symbian supporters, a last hurray of the legendary Operating System on high end market. Event will be held to introduce the phone locally but unlike the recent activities of the Lumia series and the Nokia N8 introduction two years ago, the aforementioned event will only be nominal, how minor is it, that we have to find out.

Aside from the high-resolution 41 megapixel sensor with high-performance Carl Zeiss optics and new pixel oversampling technology, the phone also have a full HD 1080p video recording and playback with 4X lossless zoom, Nokia Rich Recording, Xenon and LED Flash, a Dolby Digital Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback, 4 inches AMOLED screen display with ClearBlack Display technology, Symbian Belle Feature Pack 1, WLAN, Bluetooth among others.

Oh well, picturesque places and cool party events ready, get set…
