On the Eve Of The New Year

Wow!! 2008 is almost over and its like it has just started. Well, time really fly fast and we are now on the verge of 2009. How do you celebrate this time of the year? Here in my country, we attend a mass, 2 hours before midnight, its like praying for a bounty new year ahead and we prepare for Media De Noche where we feast on the eve with lots and lots of food, spaghetti or pansit to be exact for long life among others. Of course the celebration would not be complete without the all time favorite fireworks display and loud banging sounds to drive away bad luck. I believe this is a Chinese tradition adopted by Filipinos.Filipinos also have many "pamahiin" or superstition, like the wearing of polka dots clothes, preparation of 13 round fruits, 25 pieces of round coins wrap in red clothes, 13 boiled eggs to be eaten on the eve, the red rose on a glass of water to be drunk also on the eve, turning all appliances and vehicles on, the all time famous jump for people to grow taller among others. Theirs a lot of things to at this very moment and its fun doing all this at a time. c", I love New Year, it brings new hope, promises new life and keeps dreams alive.

Best wishes to everyone and may you have a bounty and fruitful 2009 ahead. May you still keep on visiting my small blog and share all my love in the world.

Love Life; Colors

A color can identify your character, can predict what you are and what you like in life, does this sounds familiar to you? Well it sure does, this have been a 2nd time that I encounter this kind oof test, the last time though, cant barely remember the name obut it surely did struck me, it was like a window to myself, explains how I see things and all were true in a sense, maybe!

This time, with this website: http://vn247.net/flash/Color-and-Me.swf
But its more of a game than a personality check and this is how it rate me.

1. You have little interest in your financial investments. You are not driven by material wealth and prefer to see where destiny takes you. (Wrong, I love business and investments, wealth is synonymous to happiness for me ;-) just kidding haha)

2. Preferring a more casual appearance, you are more comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt than in a suit. You don't like over dressing for any occasion, although you never look scruffy. (True, but sometime I dress up to score c",)

3. You are aggressive in business, but tend to take the backseat when it comes to your personal life. You are more comfortable talking about work than relationships. (This is a contradiction to number 1)

4. In your mind, the image your friends have of you is very important. You like to have the latest brands and are prepared to invest a lot of your money in quality and expensive possessions. (True for the friendship thing but so not true to brand preference, I like best value stuff, quality and affordability must go hand in hand)

5. Business often takes priority to social occasions. You are aggressive in business, but tend to take the backseat when it comes to your personal life. (Reaffirm my number 3 answer)

6. For you, friendship is an extension of business. Your care and attention is given only when it helps your personal situation. (So not true, I have the best friends in the world whom I share thoughts, happiness, sorrow and pain)

Try this game yourself and share your thoughts c",

Red Mobile; To Red To Get Rid!!

Good Day Friends c", Still have a post Christmas effect? I do, weight gain c", and I'm trying to loose it all by going back to my exercise routine.

Something new, I bought my very first Red Mobile sim a week ago at a mall in the heart of Cebu City, Philippines, never mind asking what and which mall it was, and my initial thought about it, very very very and very unimpressed and disappointed. You see, I arrive in this mall as early as 9a.m. to secure a boat ticket back to Mindanao and it just so happened that the Red Mobile Team set up a booth near the ticketing office so i took the liberty to inquire and bought a sim because of their enticing gimmick of being able to win a price when you buy one and to my disbelief, the sim card have no signal when i tried it on, even the sales representative got shock by the incident.
It was their first day on that area and i was their first customer, other people next to me who bought sim also have no signal on their phone as well, I could see the panic button ringing on the staffs face as they were caught by surprise and have hard time explaining to the buyers why that area where they set their booth up, mall at the heart of Cebu, have no signal of their service what so ever which only mean one thing, the most worst and the most primitive mobile service to ever exist because of poor or weak signal. How stupid are they to set up a booth with no signal coverage and then offer it to consumers.

Red Mobile is the 3G arm of Smart communications which offers cheap telecommunication rates from voice to video calls of 50cents per minute, text and mms of 50cents per send and mobile internet of 7.50 every 15 minutes. But the catch is that, it will only work in 3G capable phones and areas with 3G signal, beyond this its as useless as nothing. The problem is the 3G signal, its very poor in most places at least in Cebu, the Queen City of the South, and 3G is not wide spread all over the country, it only exist in urban areas and this signals were abrupt and weak at all times, how can consumers enjoy mobile communication with this limited access, how can they be upfront with important calls or messages when they cant be riched? How funny and obscure this sim offers? My advice, don't even care to try this sim, its useless, stick to your old service provider, Globe and Smart.

ALERT!! BEWARE!! Nigerian Scam

Red Alert!! If you are an eBay seller, you really need to know this.

A week ago I receive an email from a buyer named Stellah Oliseh(frexy_lady@yahoo.com) expressing her interest to buy my posted laptop in eBay.ph, yup folks I'm selling my 11 months old Gateway T-1616 laptop, interested buyer, please visit Ebay.ph or email me at iolo003@yahoo.com c", anyways, she was asking about the laptops condition among others and so I replied to her promptly with grace. She then replied back and this time telling me details about herself, that she lives in United States, that she have a son in Nigeria and that the item will be send there.

Immediately warning bell rang in my head when I read the word Nigeria since in my months of being an eBay seller and buyer, I've read about post descriptions from other sellers telling prospect viewers and buyers that they don't ship to Nigeria and other African countries. After reading the mail, I immediately goggle about it and find out an organize fraud known as the Nigerian Scam.

The system, they contact eBay sellers like me via email, will site their interest to buy the product on a higher price than the bid price, asks you to send the item to Nigeria and pay you via Paypal, Western Union or Postal Check. They will then ask every information from you like your Bank Account, Address, etc and after a day send you a bogus email using Paypal or Western Union telling you that the buyer paid your item and that you need to send the item to the buyer before you can withdraw the money from them. This is a BIG SCAM since there was really no transaction done with Paypal etc. and that the email you receive was FAKE, made only by the buyer to deceive sellers. If you don't know anything about this, tendency is that you will think that the email was authentic and you will then send the item to Nigeria only to find out that you've been fooled and you can never bring your item back.

This is a very nasty scam that needs to be brought to public for everyone to know thus preventing them to be preys of this scrupulous people. I would have been a victim of this if I didn't care checking it out, I was just lucky that I was observant and curious enough. My well love Gateway Laptop worth Php30,000 might have bid goodbye without pay.

Please be vigilant friends! If you know other scams around, please don't hesitate to share it with us so we can avoid it right away.

Christmas Gift! Love Life

Christmas Day today my Dear Friends!!

Have you receive your gift already? Probably yes, gift giving is one of the most widely known practice during this time of the year and on my part, I have receive just three gifts so far, Thank You!!

One is cash gift from my Aunt in US, the other one was from my younger sister, cool gift, a cellphone accessory, kinda like a dangle and the last, hopefully not the least, is the most special one, from Nokia and CgeNa.com, a local website here in the Philippines that focus on gadgets and mobile phones.

They gave me a.. Nokia Back Pack!! Woooohoww!! c", Thank You Very Much!! Inset are the images of the backpack, a blueish bag with a stride of silver in the middle and the NOKIA logo of course. I love it, the design is simple on the outside yet it has everything you need inside, like Nokia phones, and me, simple on the outside yet sophisticated in the inside, lolozzz!! c", It's like a laptop bag, it had a laptop compartment inside and a lot of shelves to store and organize stuffs. Again Thank You Nokia and CgeNa.
More on CgeNa, it is a FREE Filipino gadget price compare website. It was made to ensure that consumers will know where to get the lowest and affordable gadget prices in the market. Although it will not just focus primarily on prices, it will also include the gadgets features, shop names and locations. This website will help users to select and analyze different gadgets in the market. CgeNa.com envisions itself as the leading online medium for gadget retailers, distributors and consumers in the Philippines. The website is powered by RaksoCT, a technology based company.

Again Thank You and Happy Christmas People!

I been using the camera prowess of my phone lately due to family gatherings and reunions brought by the Holiday Season and it have served me perfectly well taking the best still pictures booth in night and broad daylight. There Can Only Be One

Good day friends, Its two days before Chirstmas, the most important day in the Chirstian world. Do you have gifts already for your love ones? I hope soo, but if not, you better move your butts out and shop fast or better buy them an NGage game called One if they are an Nseries user.

My post today will be kinda shocking because I'm going to feature an N-Gage game called One. To be very honest, I wasn't really a big fan of the N-Gage gaming flatform because its painstically expensive, purchase of this game is not possible in the Philippines and I haven't found a good game thats worth the money, not until I discover "ONE", a 3D fighting game with awesome graphics and superb soundtrack that can be compared to playstation or xbox in quality.

Sorry I cannot go on full details about the geeky specs and detail of the game but from a gaming dumb's point opinion, I love the game and I would regard it as the best 3D fighting game I played so far. The graphics are smooth, neatly done, movements of the character are way better than Assasins 3D, the settings particularly the buttons can be tweak as to the users preference, rankings are posted to be pited to the best record in the N-Gage world and you can challenge everyone in the web to fight with you online. The possibilities are limitless and the challenge is irrestible, who will become the unlimate fighter, who will be the One.

How I wish I can buy this game as a gift for myself this Christmas and for Filipinos to be given access to buy and enjoy this amazing game as well as the other great games at NGage. I hope Nokia is trying to do something about it.

If your not living in the Philippines, buy this game or give it to your love ones, they will surely love it. Anyways, trial version of the game is available at the NGage website, just head over to www.n-gage.com

Merry Christmas Everyone!

Micro Images and N82

Its only been a day since I decided to learn about the Close Up Mode of my Nokia N82. I have read feedbacks about this great feature all over the web and decided to try it myself. I coudn't believe how easy it was, I thought it will take me sometime since this was my first digital camera ever and haven't really used one in the past. The only camera I own, was a Kodak, I forgot the model number but it uses a film and doesn't have any feature on it rather than the shooter button and the lens cover. It was also a prize that I won from Globe Telecom 5 years ago in one of their promotional activities. I told you I have a long history with Globe but it haven't really serve me well in all those years thats why I still prefer Smart if I have a choice. c",

Anyways back to Close Up Mode. Nokia really made the camera interface easy for the users to enjoy, thats why I was taking micro images in just minutes after scrolling the camera menu. Its what Nokia do best for the past years, giving customers the best experience and convinience as possible while using their product and I believe will still be future devices. We just need to open and Mode Icon in the camera menu and select close up mode and wallah, the camera is ready to capture intricate detail of small objects within 10 to 60 cm.

Here are some of sample images I took.

Flowers in the middle of the day. I actually saw many images of flowers being used in photo reviews, so why not use it myself without originality. c",

I was thinking something unique this time and thought of smiling mini toys, why not. Its fun watching happy images at the same time trying showing its intricate details. c",

To sum things up, this feature is a powerful tool in photography, it gives variety to the images, enhances modification to the norm and gives opportunity for others to showcase creativity and I'm just very glad that I have it on my mobile device. The ultimate one.

Love Manila Ocean Park!

One of the best change I discovered during my most recent trip to Mega Manila, Philippines is the completion of Manila Ocean Park, cited to be the best tourist attraction created to date, it brought something exciting and new in the country's capital and the main one reason why I was looking forward to my recent trip to the Mega City.

Manila Ocean Park is the very first state-of-the-art Oceanarium, open water habitat, boutique mall, restaurant row and function facilities all located in one complex in the country. Being situated at the back of Quirino Grandstand, facing Manila Bay, it gives a perfect ambiance to the facility that brings the best of the water world can offer and a best place to see the most beautiful sunset in the world. An all in one facility for learning, shopping, dining, relaxation, fun and just about anything.

I learned about about Ocenariums on television few years back, the one that I saw that was the Oceanarium in Singapore, and was really amaze by it. From then on I dreamnt of visiting at least once im my life. The very moment I learned that an Oceanarium is about to open in Manila, I was very thrilled and happy, a dream come true.

This is the parks main lobby, huge and wide, colorful and serine, just like what the ocean brings, mesmeric at its best. Its one of the most unique lobby I've been to, inviting and fabulous.

The main gate to the Oceanarium, a place where excitement burst up, being just the a wall away from a different world of, a world of fascination, spectacular creatures, and captivating scenery.

Behold, the best of the water world, the best place in the whole Oceanarium. Dark and Mysterious.

I have to cut down my feature of the Oceanarium people, Stay tuned for more great images in my future blog guysc",

Defending N96

I was able to read an article about Nokia N96 reviewed by, hmm I won't mention the blogger, and after reading it, I felt like I need to defend Nokia N96 from vicious attack made by him and also to the bunch of haters, freaks and geeks all over the web.

But before that, what I've notice about this attacks were that, they usually were made by non owners, pretending to be owners, full time geeks, fanboys from other manufacturers and haters who only base their comments and review on paper specs and prototypes, and most of this comments were ridiculous, ignorant and misleading. My advice, dont listen or believe in this comments and try to find the most fair and most credible reviewer like the people of Allaboutsymbian.com, they approach and explore every posible angle and never hesitate to go beyond the 4 corners of their techy knowledge. Kudos to them and to rest of mobile review experts who gives commendable reviews.

From my point of view, a non techy person and somebody who belongs to the mass market, N96 is the best all in one device in the market. Specs sheet will give us every best feature ever created by Nokia and top it with a DVB-H receiver. No other phone in the market has all this features and combine to one device. Yes we have other good phones that can challenge some of the features of N96 but can they challenge all? They have no DVB-H, their not dual core, no dedicated video chip etc, so they cant say that those phones are better than N96. Never to none.

About the battery life, N96 have only 960mAh with it but can N96 handle a whole day usage with it, yes and more than that, regular people like me dont use their phone that much compared to the geeks who have no life but their mobile phone. Who do you think lives normaly, I do, 98% of us and there not thinking normaly than the usual.

Camera, 5MP of N96 can produce the best images for normal users, and the geeks says its not enough, 8MP is better, and they even dont use camera that much, how funny is that.

Sound chip, N96 doesnt have dedicate chip for this but do geeks appreciate music like normal people do, nope, they dont listen to music, they dont have fun parts in their life.

N96 have dedicated video chip, geeks dont appreciate this because they dont watch videos and movies, they dont like entertainment.

N96 has N-Gage flatform, the best gaming flatform in the mobile world and why geeks dont appreciate this? they only like playing hide and seek and its not fun either.

Hmmm, I've written and defended N96 enough and I dont like to dedicated my whole afternoon for this post, I'm going out with my friends tonight, and so peace out friends.

Back to earth now! toooot!

Ayala Center Cebu, Philippines

Welcome back friends c", It's been awhile now that I haven't feature Malls on my little blog and since I was in Cebu lately, I didn't let it passed by without visiting one.

I love malls, its not because I love to shop or buy just about anything, but because I applaudetheir granduer and unique ambiance, the atmosphere of hapiness, excitement and fun. People come to malls to shop or window shop, eat, watch movie or hang out. It had become a living entity that breaths to peoples desires.

I have been to a lot of Malls around the country and only few stands out, one of them is Cebu City's pride, Ayala Center.

My recent trip to Cebu was a hectic one, given only a day with business matter as the priority, I have only few free time to spare thats why I visited the Ayala mall late night but not in vain because I was in the right moment to see this incredible scenery.

This is the east side entrance of the mall, a very grandoise welcome. Look at all those flood lights, it brought a classy ambiance, its like a mall abroad and my powerful N82 capture every detail of it.

A few steps away from the entrance and this splendid site will great you. A park with a beautiful landscape at the middle of the mall. They call this the TERRACE.

A closer look at the main mall, the park is oblong shape sorrounded by the malls structure. I took this at the balcony/hallway of the south part facing the main mall on the north. I was standing on a second floor structure that gave me this view.

This is the west part of the park, eluding the same imposing view. Love it.

This is not part of the park, just took a picture because I like the scenery. The pathway seen is going to Marriote Hotel, a 4 star hotel were I stayed c", just kidding, can't afford one.

I took this photo on the west side part of the park showing the southeast. The 1st and 2nd floor of this building houses mostly fine dining restaurants, pizzeria, steakhouses, grills and coffee shops, all expensive and can't afford again.

The south building has this huge leaf style ceiling covering a part of the park. I'm taking this on the center ground of the park facing south, a gigantic facade!

If only I have images of this mall before, it would have been a great comparison. The transformation of this mall was really amazing. This is just one of the very reason why Cebu is a tourist hub, its world class facility coupled with great attractions that has historical and religious flare. Definitely a place to be.
