Music Tuesday: Dip-In To The Latest Cobra Starships Music Video, Good Girls Go Bad

It's my latest fab tract at the moment, it has nothing to do with the lyrics c", just the hip and cool vibe. I rather make bad girls go good than the other way around, who in the world doesn't like bad and nasty girls, haha kidding! This is a General Patronage blog.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic made a huge appearance in the video, part of Nokia's product placement advertising program which I find very fruitful, the music phone is such a huge success everywhere in the world. Its been awhile since this phone had invade the music video universe with several videos in toe, hits like Britney Spears's, Womanizer, Christina Aguilera's, Keeps Gettin Better, Pussycat Dolls, Hush Hush video among others. It also came out in the Batman Movie, The Dark Knight, who would have missed that.














The phone was very prominent in the video, it appears 8 times, more than enough to capture interest among viewers. More music videos to come I guess for this music power device!

5800 XpressMusic To Account

As promised, here is my blow by blow account on the performance of the 5800 XpressMusic that accompany me through a growling trip to Asia's Latin City. I have two routes to choose from, the long yet safe way 11 hour trip via Dipolog City route or the short 9 hour trip yet dangerous path via Pagadian City where bandits loomed around with the least 10% chance of being robbed inside the bus specially now that the 2010 National Election is forth coming as most of this robbery groups where politically motivated or supported by politicians as they raise money to buy votes. I'm proud to say that I am wise enough to choose the safe one, nonetheless.

I left the house at around 5PM to catch up with the last air-conditioned bus for Dipolog City with a full battery. The moment I got up the bus, I took phone out and started the music player, I have a huge collection of music files in my memory card which ranges from different genre and my most fab recently, "The Scrubs" soundtrack collection which has mostly alternative songs in the 90's. I got this file from my bothers CD and ripped it out using the Nokia Music Manager. The phone undoubtedly excels well in the music arena with features dominating more against my N82. It sounds better and clearer using my A4Tech earbud headphone and the bass was loud and deep that I need to turn the bass widening off to minimize it.

The Ozamis to Dipolog route was a long 4 hour trip and I arrived in Dipolog city quarter to 9 and immediately went to Lee Plaza to grab a Chowking dinner and wrote this post, with the music player turned on all the time at a maximum volume, it was very surprising to know that the phones bar was still intact, that long hour unlimited music would have cost half of the battery life of my N82. Must have something to do with the music cheap that the 5800 has that minimizes battery consumption well, but whatever it is, the experience was commendable.

After staying for about an hour at Lee Plaza, I went back to the Dipolog City terminal to catch up with the 10PM bus trip to Zamboanga City. This is the last trip for the day and it will be the longest travel time which will cover a 6hour span. My first 2 hours was spend again on the music player and it was around 11:30PM when I first notice a drop on the battery meter, one bar down, and continue for about 30 minutes before I decided to turn it off so I can sleep because it was about midnight. I was sleeping the rest of trip but it was a shallow short lived because of my uncomfortable position and the bus's movement, oftentimes I got awaken with a sudden brake or a sharp curves which spoils everything.

I arrived in Zamboanga at around 4AM and went directly to the only 24 hour food shop in the area, Chowking, and zipped in a hot brewed coffee, it is where I wrote this part of the blog. I was tired with the trip and very sleepy and I need to be awake for the rest of the day to finish what I came here for. Offices opens at around 8AM so I need to conjure at least 3 hours, good thing though that this Chowing Store have wifi router, the Internet connection spare me away from boredom. The battery life of the 5800 when I arrive here was still on a 4bar stretch and after 2 hours of using wifi on the phone, it flashes its first battery low signal. It was high time for me then to retard the phone and went to business.

The phone did not bugged down at for the next 4 hours of standby with as much as 10 sms sent and receive, just in time that I finished my business transaction and decided to head home. It was almost 12 noon that the phone went empty giving a total of 2o hours power time after a gruesome 8hour music, 2hours of internet browsing via wifi, and several sms and calls. This is at about a half more to N82's battery life being submerge to the same scenario, a very commendable one. I hope my upcoming 5530 XpressMusic will carry the same fleet or even better. It doesn't have a 3G on it and I think that would matter in the overall battery performance of the phone. I only hope it arrives soon!

Another Day With The 5800 XpressMusic

I was about to travel to Zamboanga City for an important seminar when a thought cross my mind and barged into my brother's snitched asking him to lend me his 5800 XpressMusic for 2 days. It was a bit of a surprise luring a hesitant reaction to his face but I don't think he has much choice because I bought it for him. c", He is a type of guy who doesn't really share stuffs with anybody and doesn't like borrowing rather plus the fact that he loves his phone very much, so it was a big decision for him to recur, nonetheless I would like to commend his accord.

I have learned though that the phone made a short trip to Nokia Care because the LCD broke leaving it blank and unusable, good thing that I brought the phone in a Nokia Authorized Dealer with warranty that the Service Center did not bother to ask for any payment, it would have cost Php2,000 for the LCD alone.

The moment I got hold on the phone, I immediately check the firmware version and upgrade it to the latest one since it still have the primitive v10 on it. I have to applaud Nokia in here, the Over The Air update is very smooth and fast in contrast to the Nokia Software Updater set up on my N82 which takes a lot of time and very risky to do. I hope this becomes a standard on most phones in the future. Like the 6120 Classic, the phone also installed all the save app's on my N82's memory card, I suppose its a standard rather but I was surprise to find out that 5800 did the same even if its running a 5th Edition OS, most application though did not open except Gravity, Friendster, Photo Browser, Mobiola and Themes. Mobiola was chappy with motion delays and I find it very uncomfortable to watch. I do hope DIVX could come up with a free .avi player for S60 5th Edition.

The phone still works great, I thought the UI was more faster to use compared to what I can remember and more responsive that I don't have to press icons several times before opening one. I do have issue on this phone with the landscape virtual QWERTY, I just can't master typing messages using a finger due to its cramp keys and the handwriting recognition is rather slow than helpful that I need to use T9 most of the time, can they at least make the QWERTY buttons bigger, theirs still a lot of space to utilize like maybe decreasing size the message box or the space button at the bottom. By the way the phone does have a cut and paste option but it seems that I cannot transfer cut files from the phones Draft to blogger, any idea how?

While the phone fails in the messaging department, it championed the Music arena in terms if features and longevity which I'm going to account every hour of it on my next post, ala battery mode test. For now, I'm still remastering the set up of the phone a bit and charging it. I'm off by 5PM. Stay Tuned!

Just Another Mobile Phone Price Watch, Philippines

A lot of developments came in lately specially in mobile phone arena as anticipated devices begins to harbor mobile shops and stores around the country that's why I'm bringing back the Mobile Price Watch hot and fresh.

Head Start, my once upon a time, most anticipated phone of the season, Nokia N97 has finally been sighted with a superlatively decent price tag of Php30,600 to Php33,000. Though Nokia Flagship Stores have exclusive distribution of the phone until the end of the month, most of the mobile shops I've been to, were already starting to accept pre-orders/reservations with a lonesome downpayment of course. But then if you have an insider friend from this shops, you could probably go home with a unit right there and then, that if you keep your mouth shut because they will be fined by Nokia for bridge of contrat. c", Nokia Flagship Stores were selling this phone for Php34,000 at the moment and they accept installment plan for credit card holders.

Next Up, my current anticipated device, N86 8MP, widely available in most stores. This device banks a very lucrative and enticing price of Php23,400 - Php25,000 and is available in Black or White. I call this phone the most feature packed best value phone at the moment due to its competitive price tag and high end features. I never thought this phone would cost this cheap, I was thinking it would be within the Php28,000 mark like that of N85 when it was first release. I was thinking of holding on a little bit longer before buying one, maybe the price will go down a bit but that if I can hold my lust.

Nokia E75, the current ESeries powerhouse is now within the Php17,000 - Php22,000 marked, a thousand peso lower when it first came out two weeks ago. Another good value phone in our midst. Of course this was targeted for the Business Savvy individual, perfect fit.

I was a bit surprise thought that my omnipotent N82 is back on top of the price list. Its currently being tagged at around Php15,500 - Php17,000 which is a lot higher than my previous post of Php13,500. Maybe their was a sudden increase of demand and fewer supply that's why the price soared. Rumor has it that the production of this phone have been cut already but no confirmation whatsoever from Nokia.

My other dream phone, N85 is now within the Php18,500 - Php20,000. A little to expensive I believe since its elder broad, the N86 8MP have been raoming already with a more powerful feature and specs. This phone will definitely be engulf by its predecessor in this Price range, so it has to be lowered a bit, at least to gain buyers.

Another new phone on the block was the very simple yet stylish Nokia 6700, a predecessor of the very successful Nokia 6300. The main attraction of this phone is its simplicity enriching the idea of elegance and usefulness. I would have been lured to go with this phone if I'm not a heavy entertainment and feature user but I'm not. Anyways, theirs a big market of this phone in the real world and the millions of 6300 devices sold will speak for that.

Finally the very successful 5800 XpressMusic which is now being regarded as the number one selling device via Telecom carrier in Europe. Very much significant I believe because it suites up to becoming the most selling touchscreen device in history, my Sony Ericsson fanatic brother has one. Its being price currently at Php14,000 - Php15,500 in most stores.

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic Lands On Smart Telecom

Finally, after 6 months of existence, the fastest selling music phone in the world can now be snatched FREE in the Philippines biggest mobile network under the Smart Gold Plan 1,800. Perks included in the package, 1 hour mobile internet when you use Yahoo One Search, Pre-installed Games; DJ Mix Tour, Guitar Rock Tour, Asphalt 4, Global Race & Bounce, Pre-installed 50 UMG Musictracks and videos and voucher to download 450 additional musictracks and videos. Quite a lot in here compared to phones bought in mobile shops.

Call this an answer to my demand c", they must have read my rants here clamoring the phones presence in the Smart Gold phonelist to counter iPhone's connivance with Globe, now the touchscreen war is over in this part of the world, the 5800 XpressMusic will surely eat the Apple iPhone alive.
Speaking about demands, they actually upgrade the N85 plan package also, it was likewise one of the rant in my demand article before. They used to offer N85 FREE under the Plan 1,200 which was pitted against the 6220 Classic and we all know that N85 is a mile better than the 6220 Classic in features and specs that's why I made the appeal. Now the phone is being offered FREE to Plan 2,500, a worse case scenario. I'm sure a lot of N85 fans who will be getting this phone via Smart Gold condemns me for this because it will be difficult for them to avail the phone now with such a high price bracket. Sorry guys, didn't expect Smart go to this far, they must have offered it on Plan 1,800 the least.

Back to the 5800 XpressMusic, I believe Smart also went to far in bracketing this phone to Plan 1,800. Its to expensive for a phone with a standard retail price of Php15,000 only. It's not reasonable even if the plan has a lot of perks included with it. The world is in recession and so are most of the Filipinos so they must have at least come up with modest bracket point, Plan 1,200 is more than enough. Reconsider Smart people, I know your listening to consumers demands.

Anyways if paying Php1,800 a month for 2 years doesn't bother you, pick your Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone FREE at any Smart Wireless Center near you.

Just Another Price Watch

Its been a while since I feature price watch on my blog and I have a new phone added on my list, the Nokia E75, a business smartphone with side slider QWERTY keyboard for optimal messaging experience, sporting Symbian OS, S60 rel. 3.2, 3.5G HSDPA, WIFI, videos, music, and graphics on a 2.4” QVGA display and orientation sensor, this phone is very much considered a power house device. The device carries also an integrated A-GPS, 3.2-megapixel autofocus camera, USB charging with simultaneous data transfer, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, and USB 2.0 High-Speed among others.

E75 was introduce to the Philippine market just this week with a price mark of Php22,700, mall price and a whopping Php25,000 in Nokia Flagship Stores. Quite reasonable here knowing that the device with same spectrum like E71 was introduce at Php27,000 price range and yet E75 has extra buffs with it like the slide QWERTY and N-Gage compatibility.

Speaking about E71, the most successful device in the Enterprise series, the device is now within Php15,900 marked, a huge drop from its initial tag, enjoy top of the line device for a mid range price.

The 5800 XpressMusic, the fastest selling mobile phone in the world now cost Php15,200 mall price, quite remarkable here since its was only 3 months ago that this cost Php25,000. A midrange powerhouse that conquers the touchscreen market with a bang. Nokia must make more low cost, best specs phones to make a huge impact again and that includes N97 suppose to be if they sold it below the 500 Euro marked but instead they bullied it to 599 Euro, a big mistake. They would have conquer the touch market in all fronts but unfortunately there stupid enough to realize this.

N85, a dream phone of mine is now labeled within the Php18,900 price range. The AMOLED carrying device with awesome dual slider form factor is now within reached, I was thinking of buying this phone instead of the overprice N97 but I dont think I'm ready to leave my N82 just yet.

N82, the device to beat by Nokia new comers is now sold at Php13,500, an awesome price designation that can boil water without heating. Imagine a device with powerful specs unequalled in Nokia realms yet sold at a cheap price, its like the biggest sale in the history of mobile phones. If your a power user within using a midrange phone at the moment or even N Series users like N73, N80 etc, then this is the best upgrade for you, enjoy the Best Imaging Device with Xenon Flash, splashed into the world of N-Gage with 3D acceleration graphics support like no others and sway into the sleekness and rubostness with N82's design and form factor. Amazing!!

Another 5800 XpressMusic Update!

Nokia 5800 has arrive in the City Of Golden Friendship, Cagayan De Oro City, Philippines. Been there last week and took time to scroll in big mobile shops to eves drop on whats going on around. I've been to the Limketkai Mall, the biggest mall in the city, and SM City Cagayan De Oro, the mall that failed to take off being far from the city proper, and found interesting price range of the device.

First stop, Limketkai mall were I visited 4 of the biggest mobile phone shops, the Graphics All in One which tagged the device the cheapest with 17,890 pesos. It was only 3 weeks ago that I bought this phone for my brother for 18,890 at Junrex SM City Cebu and there have already been significant drop of the price. I wish my brother would have waited a little longer, we would have save a thousand bucks. Minimum allowable charge via credit card, 10thousand and you will then need to pay the remaining amount by cash.

Just beside this shop is Nokia's very own flagship store that post a hefty Php19,143 price tag on the device, aside from the fact that your getting the genuine device from this shop, this is the only store to that accepts credit card installment of up to 6 months. The best option in my opinion because it will breakdown payments to a cheap and reachable status.

Next stop was the NexGen Mobile, and they labeled the phone for Php18,590 cash basis only. Quite expensive here knowing the fact that you can also purchase the device cheaper via cash or single straight or installment credit card payment in other nearby shops. Its likely that they wont attrack consumers in this manner.

Celwave, another major mobile phone supplier designate a Php17,898 device cost which is only 8 pesos shy from being the cheapest against Graphics, but what was better about this shop is that they accept a full credit card charge for the unit with a single stright payment option compared to the limit charge set by Graphics.

Going to SM City Cagayan De Oro shops, there were really no significant difference in the price, the Graphics store in SM cost 50 peso higher than the Limketkai price which I believe was due to the high rent cost of SM. This comes out similar to other mobile shops as well that has a branch in the mall.

Cheapest price of this phone on eBay.ph though is 16,900 pesos from a powerseller, and its now a matter of choice if you trust eBay.ph or not.

Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic continues to wreck sales all over the world and its undeniably the fastest selling phone from Nokia so far and as time passes, the price of this phone will further dropped giving away affordability and opportunity for the mass market to avail.

Another 5800 XpressMusic Update!

Firmware Upgrade on 5800 XpressMusic can now be access using the Nokia Software Updater. Few changes have been known already and we are expecting its full changelog to be available in a few days. I can still remember my brother downloading the entire NSU on his phone and then complain why it didn't install, c", such a neophytes hahaha, for sure it can't be installed on his phone because its not compatible, NSU were only created to run in pc and not on phone. Anyways with a little explanation, he now knows how to do it the proper way unfortunately though, the new firmware version is not available on his product code yet, a very typical for Nokia, slow in delivering upgrades to the rest of the world.

They should know that their market didn't only involve Europe, there number one in Asia, so they need to protect this status by delivering firmwares and updates on time with Europe before Asians get tired of being ignored at shift to other mobile phone manufacturers.

Okay, back to 5800 XpressMusic, the device remains to be elusive in Asia's Only Latin City, Zamboanga City, South Peninsula. I've been to the City lately and I couldn't find readily available units yet on big mobile shops around. They only have a per order basis that reached to as long as 3 days to deliver. Maybe there ordering it in eBay.ph, wild guess hehehe,and waited for it to be delivered by the seller before they hand it down to their customers. Anyways a big event thought is brewing up in one of the shops, their setting up a huge booth for 5800 XpressMusic with matching sound boxes and stereo bluetooth headsets that goes along with the trial units to be displayed. What I like though is the 5800 designed floor mat with arrows that leads to the booth from the entrance.

It would only mean that a launch event was organized and that a very extensive campaign is brewed to welcome the phones touch down. I hope I can cover this event and bring live blog posts from the venue but unfortunately I have business matters to attend to.

Anyways, my next scheduled visit will be two weeks from now and hopefully by then I could see units on display already.

5800 XpressMusic, Not The Final Verdict?

As promised, my blog today is about the positive and negative features of the superstar device Nokia 5800 XpressMusic after initial and short yet heavy frolicking for about a few days. Yeah, I know, this is not an interesting post because I'm not a guru in mobile phones but this is intended for the dummies group. c",

I have a very positive initial impression on this phone and I have discovered my love for touch that's why I'm very much decided to get a touch device for my next phone upgrade. My best options as of the moment the Nokia N97 which is humored to be released by March 2009 and I know they were more to come for Nokia this year. They might have something hidden on the sleeves to be shown at the GSMA Mobile World Congress this February. Well see!!

First thing first, features that I'm not to happy about.
1. The material that embodies device feels plasticky and cheap to hold. They should have at least put a decent plastic on it so it would send positive vibe to the device specially on the users first hold.
2. Texting (Messaging) is difficult using bare hands, I cant imagine why Nokia gave up its text friendly impression that it have mastered for years. At least they should have put a bigger icons for its qwerty messaging mode for convenient typing rather than the small and to close buttons that made it very prone to mistakes when used. The T9 is slow rather, so its not an option in messaging matters.
3. Camera is worst, I'm starting to doubt that its not really 3.2 Megapixel Carl Zeiss on the hood but lower than this. It has prevalent noise in the background, less color contrast among others.
4. Viewing images with bigger size is a bit slow. I believe its the processor which is only an ARM 11 Single CPU that made it worst in this aspect.
5. Less feature and applications, I'm using an N-series as of the moment that's why I was a bit disappointed on this matter.
6. No quick office, cant read eBooks.
7. No option to add folders on the menu for personalization.
8. Video recording takes 15 frames per minute. I'm use to the 30 level.
9. Side frame of touch screen easily collects dust because of the space between the screen and the border.
10. Buggy units on the loss, I actually have my unit change after a day because I notice sudden changed of color from green to purple to pink every once in awhile, very weird incident and it took me hours to prove to Nokia Service Center that the device performs weird stints so they could make an incidence report and recommend change of unit.
11. The WIFI connection is not stable. I've notice that the device don't connect to WIFI steadily compared to my Nokia N82. It disconnect easily and I get too much "no gateway replay" that my Nokia N82 have connected seamlessly without any interruption. 5800 also is having a hard time opening heavy websites like mtv.com among others.

On the Lighter Side;
1. Start up is very fast, the moment you turn the device on, it automatically set up like less than 5 seconds. My Nokia N82 takes at about 60 seconds to boot up.
2. Touch is addictive, I really love the interface, its something new very sleek.
3. Head Turner, call this a phone for attention deficit people because everyone would really notice its cool interface.
4. Screen is wider in watching videos and I love to watch movies and YouTube videos on my phone.
5. Sound speakers are loud and clear with saturation, topple with bass and sound widening, it becomes a monster music device. I haven't heard any other phone as loud as this one, even louder than my vintage Nokia 6233.
6. Radio scans automatic frequencies, I never had this feature before and I love it. It would save you time manually tuning every FM station available. 5 thumbs up to this.
7. Calendar have more icons on display, one touch mechanism if you want to save meetings reminders etc.
8. Contacts can view both from the phone and sim card. In my N82, I have to copy my SIM contacts in the phones memory in able to use them.
9. Querty is addictive, I might have mention ealier that its difficult to text using 5800's querty option but the essence of qwerty caught my attention that's why I'm seriously considering this feature on my next upgrade as well.
10. Autorotation is better, its fast and sensitive compared to the sluggish autorotation on N82.
11. Swiping in viewing images, surfing the net among others is cool.
12. Gallery improvements, editing pictures have more options
13. Brighter screen, better and more colorful icons.
14. Best of all, it download files very fast. YouTube videos were downloaded in full within 30seconds span. Very impressive.

Oh well, I think I have covered quite a few for the meantime, I wish I could use the phone longer to know more about it but I'm afraid my brother won't let me, its like the phone never even leaves his hand. He loves it very much and I understand why.

Nokia 5800, Xpressing Some Love!!

Theirs a new superstar in the house, the very Sleek and Lustrous Nokia 5800 XpressMusic that took the limelight just this weekend and yet getting all the attention from every member of the family. Well, new stuff usually get attention when its new but with this phone, its more than the ordinary, it has a spank of excitement and hysteria, something I cannot explain.

Maybe it was because of the momentum built before I brought this device for my brother, their was a sense of agitation among the members of the family as my brother keeps on talking about it out of excitement. Or maybe because its well advertise in the media, being featured in music videos of Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera (my family loves music and music videos), talked about and used by local celebrities, featured in local television shows, among others, it made quite a stir on us. It was even cited as the fastest selling mobile phone in the world so it really is something I look forward to as well. What makes it a supper hit phone, most talk about and well loved.

I didn't know it was more than what I expected being a mid range device and sold at a low price, it was surprisingly a good phone and a very addicting one. I was actually able to used the device for 2 days, I brought it in Cebu City, stayed there for awhile and its like my brother have no choice but to let me used his new phone hahaha. It was a very positive experience, it was like I was poking on it for hours and never care about the world around me, trying everything on it, every applications, every possible usage until it drains empty with the initial battery charge.

By the way, I brought the phone in Junrex Cellphones and Accessories at SM City Cebu at Php18,990 via credit card on a straight payment basis. Out of the all the cellphone shops in the mall, only 3 stores have been bless to offer early batches of units, Junrex, Aerophone and of course the Nokia Flagship Store. Aerophone tagged the phone for Php18,980 while the Nokia Flagship price it at Php19,990. All of them though have no installment option for Metrobank Credit Card which is a big setback because that would mean I have to topple down the whole price in just one month. :( Good news for BPI, BDO and HSBC credit card holders, they have a green signal for you folks of up to 6 months installment plan. Cheers!

Anyways, I'm going to share with you the positive and negative aspects of the phone next time around, yes its not a perfect phone and you have to stay tuned to know why! c",

Another 5800 XpressMusic Update!

Back to the 5800 XpressMusic update folks, the Zamboanga City, Philippines Edition.

I have some good news and very bad news. The good news, confirmed and sealed, 5800 XpressMusic went on sale in snitch mobile shops but then as of the moment, its out of stock and that's the very bad news.

I went to four main mobile shops in the city and all of them said that there selling the device already but runs out easily. The very first shop I visited was at the Gateway Shoppers Center, the unit cost and around Php20,340 for credit cards installment of up to 6 months, my best option, and it has a less of 1,900 Pesos if bought in cash, it means that the unit cost at about 18,440 only, quite cheap there than the Nokia Flagship price of 19,990 but a bit expensive than the eBay.ph price of 18,000, yup, a super seller on eBay.ph had just drop the price today. Quite happy here, this device costs at about 25thou when it first came out on eBay, and a big hooray for my brother, he wanted this phone badly and the least, its now within my payable bracket. And as mentioned earlier, they don't have a standby unit for the time being and I have to wait for 3 days if I'll buy one, pre-order stint, frown face.

My next pit stop, Expressions Mobile House and they tag 5800 XpressMusic at 18,900 frame, all cash, no credit card installment, a big bobo, and i have to wait for 3 days again because they run out of stock. The saleslady told me that they have 10 units that arrive last week and was sold fast, most of those who got the phone ordered a week ago and I have to cast reservations myself if I want to secure a piece of their stocks arriving within the week.

The craziest thou was the info I got from Busy Tone right beside Chowking, the good sales man told me that I have to pay half of the units price for them to cast a reservation for me, hmmm, pretty odd here because what if the unit wont arrive in due time, can they like, refund my payment right there and then? a big nope, I will have to wait for a week or so before i could get refunds, standard operating procedure for most business establishments.

The last authentic mobile store in line, Megaworld and there not selling the unit yet so obviously they don't know the price, the good news though, there stocks were coming and they emphasize that there going to sell it cheaper than the competition, and this was proven and tested. I brought a Sony Ericsson P1i in this store before and believe it or not, its cost at about 4thou lower than the other stores, shockingly true.

Anyways this will be it for now, no show of 5800 XpressMusic available at the moment, hopefully its already here by next week so I can get a unit for my brother, and yes so I can take a peak as well.

Okay, since my topic is about Price watch, and that we know now the real price of the device which is Php19,990 on Nokia Flagship Stores as stated in the letter, eBay.ph price will drop as I predicted in my post yesterday and they did, it's now within the Php18,500 marked which is Php2,500 cheaper than the previous price and this is going to fall down further on the third week of the month since the device will now be available in retail stores nationwide that time. Isn't this the best news in 2009 so far, surely my brother will be the happiest since he waited for this phone like a lifetime and its finally up for grabs.

Nokia 5800 Price Watch!

Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has officially been sold for Filipinos to grab as it became available via eBay.ph for about 3 weeks now, I believe this units where imported from Hong Kong.

I haven't mention this on my blog before but I was actually monitoring it online and on retail stores. For now, the device can only be brought on eBay.ph for Php21,000, that's 4 thousand cheaper than its original first week release price which is at around 25thousand. 2 weeks after that, it plunge down to 23thousand. I'm expecting it to go down further within the next few days as its retail store availability draws nearer.

It was said to be launch and becomes widely available on January 17, 2009 with an event at Nokia Store, Bonifacio Global City in conjunction with a street party to follow after the launch. Pre Orders can now be cast at Nokia.com.ph with extra freebies given to the very first 57 customers to avail the pre orders on the said event.

That will be like 12 days from now and I'm not sure if I can claim my pre ordered unit due to monetary constraints, it was rumored to cost at around 15-25 thousand and I don't think I can raise than amount by then, just keep my fingers crossed.

No official info from Nokia Cebu as to when it will be available locally but I can already see its dummy on their display shelf as well as on the shelves of other mobile stores which only mean one thing, its a breath away.

Oh well, I'll just update you folks on the prices and its developments along, I just wish price will go down in no time so I can buy one. c",

5800 Real Score

Yesterday, My post was about Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic's release date and I have to retract that post because the release date is not a rumor anymore since the launching and release date was move earlier with 5800 officialy sold in some countries a week ago. c",

Time and again, I will reiterate that my posts were scheduled and my post yesterday was written 2 weeks ago where release date of 5800 that time was still uncertain, bare with me on this, I dont have the luxury of internet and web access when I'm at work because my work place is a small town with no internet connection whatsoever. Right now, I'm trying to catch up on new updates as much as I could and bring it all up to my readers, all the best for the love of everything.

Anyways back to 5800, its launching and release date was a huge success. Russia, the very first country to offer the device was rave with excitement as the stocks of the device was sold out in 30minutes leaving thousands of eager fans casting only preorders. It was said that the buyers waited for long hours to the point of even camping outside Nokia Store just to be first in the line.

Hongkong has the grandest launch with street party, fireworks and thousands of eager fans slacking their way into a crowded Nokia Store. As usual, not all was fortunate as the stocks run out rapidly. Other countries reported the same scenario wrapping without doubt, 5800 as one of Nokia's most sucessful device sold.

I like this phone too and have been eagerly waiting for its release but unfortunately, I still have to wait longer because Philippines was not included in the shortlist of fortunate countries that have been bless to carry 5800 early. It would have been a super hit here being a Nokia country but January wont be a long time to wait rather, few sleeps more and I will be holding it in my very hands.

Nokia 5800 Release Day?

Today is said to be the release date of the most anticipated touch screen device from Nokia, the 5800 XpressMusic but will it really be available today or Nokia will postpond the release date?

That needs to be seen since Nokia has been very good in retracting release dates in the past. Take in to the account the N96 which have been set for several release dates and it took them 8 months before finally releasing it to the market. As far as I can remember, Nokia have set an all time record of 4 release dates for N96 and people just grew tired waiting for it, hopefully it wont happen this time for 5800.

I really dont believe in release dates anymore specially if its from Nokia, I dont want to be disappointed. I still dont know anyway if I'll buy the 5800, my brother is eagerly waiting for it. I'm thinking of getting N85 or E71 instead as my reliever phone for my Nokia N82 or just wait for the Nokia Flaship touch device to be released soon.

You probably know about this device that I'm going to cite up today as it was announce 3 weeks ago and thus surely deserve a spot on my small blog being amazingly remarkable, the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

I can still remember the very day it was unveiled as it sent shockwave all over the mobile world crippling it agasht for awhile then followed by hysteria of excitement booth from mobile enthusiasts, which stormed the web to share everything about the device and consumers who are now eagerly wanting to own one.

So whats the reason behind the hysteria, the revelations that was unveiled with it starting with the phones user interface, the very impressive and new S60 Touch that will bring entirely new experience. Its basicaly everything S60 but was specialize for touch. A smart move for Nokia since the UI have already millions of followers and thousands of softwares thus familiary to the interface will surely bring confidence of stability.

Another revelation was the phones powerful features, WIFI, HSDPA, A-GPS, 3.2 Megapixel Carl Ziess Camera, Dual LED flash, Accelerometer, Quickoffice, Nokia Maps, Flash Lite 3, etc. It surely have the best features that Nokia have been famous of, a device tha can be pited among the N-Series line up.

And the best and the last revelation of all, the device is amazingly cheap. The device is said to be within 275Euro only, 399 in US Dollar price tag, so its very affordable and almost everyone can afford it.

I am as well very excited about this phone. Its like a bonus device from Nokia to all its loyal supporters, that finally the mass market, its major strong hold can buy and own a very sleek and powerful device.

I've been browsing a bit today and found out several interested tidbits in the mobile world.

Rumor has it that the following phones will be gunned by Nokia, the number one mobile phone manufacturer in the world, to be squeezed, released and turned in the mobile world in the coming months. True or not, it definitely caught my attention big time and maybe yours as well.

Well start first with the nearest possibility phones.

Nokia Tube, now known as Nokia 5800 Express Music is said to be Nokia's answer to iPhone. A fully touchscreen dedicated user interface device with a powerful feature to match iPhones current features. It's quad band with 16million TFT screen, HSDPA, Wifi, Bluetooth A2DP, Assisted GPS, unknown megapixel camera, but strong rumors has it that this will carry a 3.2 megapixel camera, carl zeiss and a led flash. This will not be the flagship touchscreen device for Nokia because soon after, they will release my next featured rumored phone.

N98, Nokia's flagship touchscreen device to topple down every single touchscreen device in the market. Just a few of it's feature to die for, quad band, 16million TFT color screen, 7.2 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens with xenon, 5x optical zoom (20x with digital), 3.5″ inch screen, assissted GPS, DVB-H receiver, 3D graphics accelerator, Bluetooth A2DP, Wi-Fi, HSPDA among other great features. Now that's what you call ultimate touchscreen, device.

N87, a video dedicated phone rather than a still camera phone. Rumor has it that this phone will showcase a 5 megapixel camera Carl Zeiss, GPS, geotagging and a bunch bunch bunch more feature. I'm I Ready For A Touchscreen Device?

A few post ago, I have tackle about a topic regarding the use of touchscreen devices, I have cited in that post that the use of touchscreen is not my forte since I'm more of a reality thinker, that touchscreen is difficult to used when your in a real world, when walking on the street or riding a bus, etc, we just cant use both hands in this situation. The screen of touchscreen interface devices tend to be wash out also in bright daylight, how can this be of use in the outside world, totally not.

Now, Nokia will launched its very first touchscreen device, the Nokia 5800 Express Music, well this affect my judgment on the argument? Frankly, I don't know yet, I still have to wait for the official performance of the device to see if it counters my negative impression on such devices when it comes to usability in real world, hopefully. I wouldn't be surprise if Nokia touchscreen interface will be easy to navigate even on the outside world like the use of one hand only among others, knowing Nokia, they have been giving us devices with the easiest interface that makes mobile communication simple than the rest. Hopefully, Nokia will also address the problem on screen brightness on broad daylight. So far with all the touchscreens that came out, nobody among them address this issues and I'm hoping that Nokia have made positive move on this.

I have to admit, I fall in love with Nokia 5800 Tube when I first saw the official image and I was indeed eager to own one. Design wise, its stylish, sleek and very attractive, the initial specs are not bad rather, it has GPS, Wifi, HSDPA, Geotagging, Bluetooth, Dual LED flash among others, the only major difference I believe will just be the Camera which contains only 3.2MP Carl Zeiss compared to the 5MP of the Nseries. It might lack also media support for videos or movies being marketed as a music centric device.

Anyways, let just wait for the official specs of this device when it comes out and whether it will address the issues thrown against touchscreen devices.

N96 Starts Shipping!

I have feature Nokia N96 the other day and I am thrilled to announced to the world that the most powerful and the most awaited flagship device from Nokia have now been shipped all over the world and it will only be a matter of weeks or two before it reach nearby retail stores.

I cant wait to try one, try only because for sure i cant afford the phone because it carries a hefty price tag when it comes out. The device was expected to cost at around $799 US Dollars, it will then be at about Php36,000 when it reach the Philippine shores, to expensive but true and their is nothing I can do about it. Its like buying two Nokia n82 plus a dozen of Dunkin Doughnuts hahaha.

Good news though, the price cuts will surely be implemented after the least 6 months. It will then be sold for $599, at around Php27,000 here. It will replace the position of Nokia N95 8GB as the flagship device as the production of Nokia N95 was already stop for good, talking about retirement with pride.

If I were to be asked, I will surely buy this phone because of the new feature it carries, Feature Pack 2, DVB-H TV, Dual processor among others and I will have to wait further to be able to do so or if Nokia S70 Touchscreen user interface doesn't come out by that time.
