Nokia N8's Astounding Feat!

The drums have rolled and the beat strummed up for Nokia's latest camera flagship device, the Nokia N8 that took the blogosphere world upside down and storming every site like no other.

I myself freak out when I learned that this phone was real having been wishing for it for the past few months, I have been holding on to my Nokia N82 long enough that I want to replace it with a worthy device, finally it came to fruition, the N8 just outshines the N82 in almost all angles.

The camera first and foremost, N8 has a 12MP camera with a 28mm wide angle lens spitting out the best images yet known to mobile phones and even exceeding the quality of professional camera's, how fascinating is that? N8 can record an HD, 720p video recording quality with 25fps with a cinematic surround sound, freaky but it was said to level the quality of a professional video device. Seems that I have now the power to shoot personal videos and make movies of my own, I can hardly do this with my N82, its even sub par for a youtube quality. Watch sample videos Here! Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound and HDMI connection to a home entertainment system seemed to far fetch for a mobile phone before but Nokia make it happen! N8 is now the first phone to carry an HDMI connection, sweet!

Nokia welcomes the Xenon back to their loving hand with N8, thanks to the never ending clamor of photo enthusiasts, they have reconsider there stand of ditching Xenon. There is no other flash that can beat Xenon yet, not in the million miles with LED or any other flash.

N8 will be the very first phone to carry a Symbian^3 Operating System, the very first Symbian system to carry Multitouched technology. It will go head to head with other platforms like Apple and Android but perhaps the best of it all, that Symbian 3 have harness idea from those platforms and top them up, plus the fact that Nokia made intricate feature truly their own like Multitasking, personal touches and fully customizable home screens, it can never go wrong overall.

Integrating all media feature is also one of its main stand point that is why access to Ovi Store’s apps, games and other cool content were focus on the N8, Web TV that could deliver local and global TV favorites, better and more interactive music player, seamless and full integrated social network experience like live updates from Facebook, Twitter, and RenRen pushed right to your home screen, with feeds visible at a single glance where all incorporated making it an uber cool all in one device.

There is even a free navigation that provides worldwide satellite car and walk navigation from Ovi Maps in over 70 countries, built in premium guides from Lonely Planet and Via Michelin for tips on travel, restaurants, weather, and hotels among others, their is no freaky way that others could surpass feature, not in a year or two.

This is the ultimate device at the moment and I'm about to get crazy just thinking about it! Crazy!

Credit Card Data Spilled Out By Social Networking Site

In parallel with the technological advancement we have today, are also advancement that restrict and limits out security just like a social networking service Blippy becoming the latest technology firm to be linked to a data leak.

According to a report from technology finance news site Venturebeat, the company was found to have left user credit card details open to search queries. As a result, the site was able to access multiple user credit card numbers.

The report suggested that the social networking site, which allows users to share information on credit card purchases, could yield user data through a targeted Google search.

Shortly after the report was published, Blippy moved to ease user panic on the incident. Co-founder Philip Kaplan said in the official company blog that only four users were actually affected by the disclosure and have been notified. No other users are believed to be at risk.

"We are serious about security and want to assure Blippy users that this was an isolated incident from many months ago in our beta test, and doesn't affect current users," Kaplan wrote.

"While it looks super-scary and is embarrassing to us, it's a lot less bad than it looks."

Excerpts Saturday! Villar And His Grand Scheme?

I receive a newsletter in my email account giving this link to this article entitled "How Villar built business empire with deceit, corruption: ex-lawyer", I thought it would be great to share it with you all.

The article was publish via ABS-CBN's website.

First of 3 Parts

MANILA, Philippines - Octogenarian Maxima Policarpio had spent most of her life in the mountains of Norzagaray, a small town in Bulacan, near the foothills of the Sierra Madre. She had hoped to spend the twilight of her life there in peace and quiet, tending a tiny vegetable garden and surrounded by fruit-bearing trees she had planted many years ago.

PART 1: Villar built business empire with deceit, corruption: ex-lawyer

PART 2: Villar firm faked titles through 'layering': ex-lawyer

PART 3: Villar firm’s high-end project sits on land for poor

PROFILE: The man who turned his back on Villar

Last February, despite her age, she left the comfort of her town and braved Quezon City’s noise, pollution and confusion to join dozens of Norzagaray farmers seeking attention to the imminent loss of their ancestral lands. “I am here to protect my land. I may be old, but I still have rights.”

“We are up against an influential person,” she said.

That person is presidential aspirant and billionaire Senator Manuel Villar Jr.

Represented by a counsel, the farmers detailed how they lost their ancestral lands, in the blink of an eye, to companies connected with Villar.

They also told of harassment efforts to force them to leave their lands.

“Before, we would wake up and see all those crops pulled out from the soil. They would do it at night. We were helpless. Some of them were armed. What would you do? We would just put back the plants,” Inocencia Pascual, 67, said.

The harassment, however, stopped as the election season neared. And they knew it is only a respite. “Tapos kami pag nanalo sya (We’re finished if he wins),” Pascual said.

Contested land

Court records show that the contested land in Norzagaray is supposedly now the property of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas after it was mortgaged in 2001 by two companies where Villar’s wife, Las PiƱas Rep. Cynthia Villar, has a stake.

The two companies--Capitol Development Bank (now Optimum Development Bank) and Manila Brickworks--defaulted on a P1.5 billion loan it secured from BSP in April 1998 following the financial crisis that hit Asian countries. The money was allegedly spent to finance the House Speakership bid that year of Villar, who was then a congressman.

Yet, documents gathered by Newsbreak show that the two companies acquired possession of the ancestral lands through fraud and manipulative layering scheme.

It appears that the Villars brought to life the defunct Manila Brickworks out of nowhere to act as the original owner of the contested land. Fake Transfer Certificates of Titles (TCTs) were produced in connivance with the Malolos Registry of Deeds to show possession of property.

Court records in Bulacan show that Manila Brickworks was originally owned by Puyat Enterprises and had claimed possession of the property in the 70s. Poultry houses were put up by Puyat Enterprises but abandoned the area after some time.

After years of inactivity, Manila Brickworks resurfaced in 1998 with new incorporators that interlocked with those of Capitol Development Bank.

Capitol Bank, which had financial problems attributed to the financial crisis, eventually sold select assets to Yuchengco-led RCBC Savings Bank to pay off some obligations, then was renamed Optimum Development Bank. (Initially, we reported that Capitol Bank was closed. It was not. - Eds)

In June 2001, Optimum signed a deed of real estate mortgage over the questioned property in favor of BSP to secure Capitol and Manila Brickworks’ unpaid loans.

The conveyance of land titles, coupled with fake ones, from one alleged owner to another, creates different layers that were used as an argument to legitimize property acquisition.

This has been the standard operating procedure of Villar’s lawyers and companies to acquire government and previously awarded lands, according to a lawyer formerly employed by the Nacionalista Party bet.

Pandora’s box of testimony
The man who turned his back on Villar

Lawyer Restituto Mendoza is seeking restitution for his sins of commission and omission as a former employee of Senator Manuel Villar Jr’s. housing empire.

Mendoza has filed a labor complaint before the National Labor Relations Commission (NLRC) for his alleged illegal dismissal after refusing the game that Villar’s senior officers play.

In his complaint, he wrote that he turned a blind eye and deaf ears to the mischief that his employers were getting into and how they get out of trouble. But an unexpected twist of events made him see the light.

He is waging a lonely battle against the billionaire and his senior officers.

His labor complaint is also a tell-all account on how the businesses of Villar acquired land for property development. Read more

The Norzagaray land case is just one of the many legal cases faced by Villar’s real estate empire, which was spawned by the production and sale of affordable houses.

Interviews with different sources and documents show his companies have been fending off legal disputes, mostly land grabbing cases, like the Norzagaray case.

In 2004, Villar hired Atty. Restituto Mendoza to handle problematic raw land cases for Household Development Corp., one of the firms under his real estate empire.

Mendoza has a pending complaint before the National Labor Relations Commission for illegal dismissal. Named respondents were Villar, his flagship real estate firm Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc., Casa Regalia, Adelfa Properties and lawyers and officers of the companies. Newsbreak obtained a copy of the complaint, including other documents.

In the labor case, Mendoza opened the Pandora’s box of irregularities of Villar’s businesses, practices and ethics. It was a tell-all testimony, bordering on violating the lawyer-client privilege, as he accused Villar of bribery, corruption, deceit and fraud in rebuilding his empire from bankruptcy.

Mendoza charged Villar on the ground that he is well aware of the practices of the firms' senior officers—from paying off government officials and judges to faking titles—to skirt potential legal issues. Mendoza said Villar is a hands-on manager, supposedly even concerned about where to put trash cans in the subdivision projects.

Newsbreak sought to corroborate Mendoza’s serious allegations, which included duping another land developer, Ayala Land, and an alleged attempt to bribe Customs officials to release an undervalued crane imported by his company, MGS Corp. (Details in Part 3 of the series, to be published on April 14.) We found some corroborative documents and information to back up Mendoza’s claims.

Ayala Land, which got questionable titles as in exchange for a previous P300 million loan from a Villar firm, has yet to reply to our query as of this posting. (Read:Imus Estate land key to Villar-Ayala deal)

Customs officials, on the other hand, provided data of the botched importation. (Details in Part 3)

Violation of lawyer-client relationship

Villar’s chief legal officer, Ma. Nalen Rosero-Galang, who has been countering the land grabbing complaints hurled against Villar since the campaign began, dismissed Mendoza’s stories and narration as “all lies.” In an interview with Newsbreak, Galang said she is “shocked of Mendoza’s allegations.”

Galang pointed out that Mendoza took five years to come out and expose the unethical practices of Villar’s businesses.

“I would have wanted to ignore him so as not to dignify his claims,” Galang said in an interview. Besides, she added that Mendoza’s claims would not have been admissible in court since “it violates the lawyer-client relationship.”

“Actually I pity him, since no one would want to hire him as a lawyer after this,” she added.

We also sought to interview Mendoza, but he begged off, saying his complaint would suffice. Mendoza was dismissed in May last year and filed his complaint in August.

The C-5 controversy

In his complaint, Mendoza mentioned some of the properties that benefitted from the controversial C5 road extenstion project. The road traversed through 50-52 hectares of Villar’s property holdings.

Villar's peers in the Senate conducted ethics committee hearings. In a report, the senators found Villar guilty of conflict of interest when he supposedly benefited from the P6.96 billion road project. A public works feasibility study stated that Villar conceived and funded the project.

Mendoza provided the context in the arrangement between two real estate properties associated with Villar. Masaito Development Corp and Adelfa Properties supposedly swapped properties affected by the C5 road extension.

Based on documents submitted by Mendoza to the NLRC, it was Villar’s Adelfa Properties that initiated the arrangement with Masaito. Adelfa then claimed the bulk of expropriation proceeds from the Masaito property.

The agreement stated Masaito would only get only P7 million while Adelfa would get the remainder, amounting to P15 million.

A total of P168.1 million was paid by the government for the right of way involving Villar’s properties while only P22 million for non-Villar properties.

And yet, based on Mendoza’s claims on the Masaito agreement, through careful planning and foresight, Villar even got proceeds from his supposed non-properties.

Why would Masaito agree to swap properties with Adelfa if it would be paid for the right of way anyway? Was government informed about the swap or was there an attempt to cloak it through internal arrangement?

Internal arrangement

A source familiar with the case said that Villar’s senior officers had anticipated the road extension would pass through the Masaito properties. The properties were raw lands at that time and would have commanded low zonal valuation.

Yet, through connections in the DPWH and the Bureau of Internal Revenue, the Masaito property was valued at P30,000 per square meter, a “unique” situation that Adriano told the Senate since it was the only property that commanded that high price.

In the Senate probe, former revenue district officer Carmelita Bacod admitted that the valuation was “grossly disadvantageous to the government.”

The source explained that Masaito knew it would only get a lower zonal valuation and thus, lower payment for its properties, if only government would have its way. Entering into an agreement would be a win-win situation for both Adelfa and Masaito---the former gets a portion of the right of way payment without essentially losing with its property while the latter gets the bulk of the proceeds.

To facilitate the agreement, Masaito and Adelfa signed a memorandum of undertaking (MOU) where they agreed to open a joint bank account at the Landbank where expropriation proceeds would be deposited. Adelfa president Jerry Navarette and Masaito president Joseph Wang would be the joint signatories.

After the first tranche of P22 million has been deposited, of which P7 million would given to Masaito, Adelfa would assume “sole right” of the remainder of the proceeds, the MOU stated. Navarrete would then be the sole signatory of the Landbank account.

Mendoza said it was the C5 controversy that shattered his respect of Villar. He recalled that he was the one who drafted the Masaito agreement upon hearing Senator Jamby Madrigal mentioning the company. “Evidently, Senator Villar was not telling the truth when he had been consistently denying in public that he and his companies never received a single centavo from the C-5 road extension project,” Mendoza said.

In drafting the Masaito-Adelfa agreement, Mendoza said he “unknowingly had been an instrument of corruption in what is now the C5 road scandal.”

In his Feb. 2 speech before the Senate to rebut the ethics, Villar maintained that he did not financially benefit from the C5 project. “Wala po akong ninakaw sa kaban ng bayan. Wala po akong kasalanan, wala pong anomalya sa C5 project at hindi po ako nakinabang,” Villar said. - With reports and additional research from Ma. Althea Teves and Purple Romero, abs-cbnnews.com/Newsbreak

Hmmm? Quite a serious allegation here, well its up to the readers and the voters to decide..

"Do Good" and Win Millions From Nokia

Nokia CEO Kallasvuo says mobile solutions in parts of the world that can benefit the most are not only needed, but can also be profitable

Good ideas are a dime a dozen, or so the saying goes. But now a single good idea could be worth a million dollars. Nokia has announced a million dollar venture challenge to encourage innovators to create a mobile product or service that raises the standard of living or enhances the lives of those in growth economies.

Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo called on innovators to do good by bringing mobile solutions to parts of the world that can benefit most. At the same time he explained that mobile solutions can be quite profitable, leading to financial “win-win” scenarios for both innovators and consumers. “We’ve seen what the tech community can do when it focuses on problems that are also opportunities”, Kallasvuo said. “We want to channel that energy toward improving lives in the developing world.”

The Million Dollar Venture Challenge will consider any submission that enhances the target growth economy and also provides a potential return on the investment. It is not limited to software or hardware that uses Nokia device or software platforms. In fact, as many emerging markets have varying degrees of mobile and Internet adoption, submissions can also expand beyond the mobile phone such as Nokia’s solutions and projects in innovations in growth economies like Nokia Life Tools and Nokia Tej.

The million dollars will be invested in a single winning organization with the best idea as decided by a combination of judges from Nokia Growth Partners, Nokia’s venture arm, and Forum Nokia, which is Nokia’s organization dedicated to 3rd party developers and other innovators. Through Nokia Growth Partners and Forum Nokia, Nokia offers developers and innovators potential funding, expert technical support and marketing programs designed to assist and promote 3rd party activities on Nokia platforms.

Also, 10 finalists will be invited to present their ideas and business models to a panel of Nokia business people and private venture capitalists, providing an opportunity for the innovators to receive business guidance and possibly other funding from participating venture capitalists.

The Venture Challenge finalists will be announced in September 2010 while the finalists will be announced in August 2010. The deadline for submissions is June 10, 2010. Interested innovators can learn more and enter their submissions at www.callingallinnovators.com.

Nokia C6 On The Cutting Edge

Among the messaging phones that were presented by Nokia last April 13, by the way I received an invitation of the virtual event via DHL (Thank You!) but it arrived April 15th, it’s the Nokia C6 that shines best to me, not that it’s the only phone with sliding QWERTY form factor but it seemed that it’s one of the byproduct of my endearing wish list. As far as this blog is concern, I made a comment about Nokia coming up with sliding QWERTY keyboard’s that were distantly spaced (E75, Nokia N97 Mini) that it became a bit difficult to used specially in reaching middle keys, well they answered back with the C6 keyboard design by throbbing a closely compact buttons thus decreasing the gap in between. Though I haven’t tried using it, it seemed that it will increase typing comfort among users, Kudos Nokia! The idea of having a QWERTY keyboard was for faster typing; well this would definitely mark up the claim. I also like the idea of aligning the buttons to that of the screen; it doesn’t give a disorienting impression like that of the E75 where the screen is half width to that of the QWERTY keyboard.

I definitely like the phone design overall; it’s fairly attractive to gaze upon especially when the QWERTY is slide out. I also like the back cover design, brings a fresh look to the seemingly redundant Nokia back design where the camera lens were in the middle with the lens protector.

Most of my answered wish list was on the hood, the 250BM RAM that will boast further the phones multitasking capability, the 200MB Internal memory which will cover application installation, High Definition touchscreen display, full integration of Social Network applications, ESeries like messaging and email (integration of features between Nokia line up), N97 like customizable homescreen among others. The face and smile detection on the camera department is a welcome addition offering something new to the arena and I hope there were more that is yet to be announced.

Seven hours of talk time is a huge difference on mobile phones, mostly it could only last for 3 hours of talk time and so it’s a bold claim to make. The phone only have 1200mAh battery capacity, far fetch to that of the 1500mAh of N97’s but it last longer than the latter, the secret lies within the OS I think, it was designed to conserve energy efficiently.

Last but not the least and perhaps the most important shocker, the price, it will only be sold for PhP15,000 more or less, imagine how cheap that is considering the features and specs of the phone (better than the N97 flagship), its mind blowing! I would swear my witched neighbor dies if this phone wouldn’t sell by the millions, hah! Kidding! I could already imagine myself buying this phone by summer because of its affordability, tired of lusting for super expensive phones because many times, it end up to nothing because I can’t afford them. c”,

Duo/Super Duo calls to RC Yulo Tel Sys, San Carlos Tel Sys, and Victorias Tel Sy will be charged regular mobile rates.

My Super Unli (P599/month), all-you-can mobile call and text to Globe/TM/Tattoo numbers nationwide. This might be the best offer in the whole plan package since it combines text and call and a biut close to Globe Business PhP499 edging only on text which only give 300 for Business 499 but it has no free phone and that you still need to dial the 238 before the 10 digit Globe/TM/Tattoo number to enjoy the ALL-YOU-CAN service which offers only limited line slot, otherwise subscriber will be charged rates outside of the ALL-YOU-CAN service.

My Super Surf (1200/month), all-you-can mobile chatting, downloading, emailing and surfing wherever you go. I love this service personally since I'm fun of mobile browsing and quess what, they even offer this package for PhP999 among Globe Business subscribers.

Nokia Unleashed 3 New Social Networking And Messaging Phones

Nokia has announced three new handsets - the Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and Nokia E5 - designed to put better messaging and social networking tools in the hands of more people around the world, at affordable prices. These new handsets feature full QWERTY keyboards, and enable access to a range of different email accounts, IM communities and social networks.

"Our messaging device range is very successful," said Anssi Vanjoki, Nokia's Head of Markets. "Services that provide easy access to the world's consumer and corporate email and instant messaging are really popular on our QWERTY smartphones such as the Nokia E71 and Nokia E63. People want the best messaging and social networking experience on an affordable device, whether it's sending a simple text or instant message, an email, or a direct message from their Twitter account. The Nokia C3, Nokia C6 and Nokia E5 are made for just that."

The Nokia C3 is the first device to bring a full QWERTY keyboard to the world's most popular mobile phone platform - Series 40 - and is the first in the range to enable access to social networks directly on the homescreen. People can view, comment, update their status and share pictures to their favorite social networks such as Facebook and Twitter.

At an estimated price of EUR 90, before taxes and subsidies, the Nokia C3 also comes with Ovi Mail and Ovi Chat, meaning first time users can set up email and chat accounts straight from the device, without the need for a PC. Other notable features are the Wi-Fi connectivity, a two megapixel camera, rich color 2.4 inch screen and support for up to an 8GB memory card. The Nokia C3 is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2010 in a variety of appealing colors, including golden white, slate grey and hot pink.

The Nokia C6 is a Symbian-based smartphone combining the benefits of a 3.2 inch touch screen with a full slide out keyboard. The large screen provides a great Internet experience, as well as offering access to Facebook feeds directly on the homescreen. A full suite of email and social networking capabilities means the Nokia C6 is perfect for people who want to stay up to date while on the go.

Expected to be available in the second quarter of 2010 at an estimated price of EUR 220, before taxes and subsidies, the Nokia C6 has an impressive feature set including a high quality five megapixel camera with autofocus and flash, and Ovi Maps with free walk and drive navigation. In addition, thousands of apps - from games and videos to news aggregators and web services - are available in the Ovi Store.

Rounding off the trio is the latest addition to the Nokia Eseries range, the Nokia E5. Designed for those that want to be productive in both their professional and personal lives, the Symbian-based Nokia E5 follows the successful blueprint of devices such as the Nokia E72 and Nokia E63. The Nokia E5 combines high quality business features with all of the personal networking and entertainment capabilities that a busy professional expects from a smartphone.

The Nokia E5 is perfect for managing busy schedules with a variety of productivity applications available in the Ovi Store. And with direct access to over 90 percent of the world's corporate email through Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler, it's easy to keep in contact from anywhere.

Estimated price of the Nokia E5 is EUR 180, before taxes and subsidies, with expected availability in the third quarter of 2010.

New Human Species Found In South Africa Through Google Earth

Google Earth has helped paleoanthropologists discover a human species that pre-dated our "genus Homo" ancestors, the search giant announced Thursday.Hominid2

According to Google, professor Lee Berger at the University of the Witswatersrand in Johannesburg used Google Earth over the last two years to locate more than 500 previously undiscovered "caves and fossil sites" around the Cradle of Humankind World Heritage Site in South Africa.

Based on Berger's findings, scientists searched the newly discovered sites and, much to their surprise, discovered a new human species.

Dubbed "Australopithecus sediba," the species "was an upright walker that shared many physical traits with the earliest known species of the genus Homo." Although their findings are preliminary, scientists believe that the species could provide valuable insight into human ancestry.

Sunday? Customized! Music A Click Away

Once upon a time, you actually had to wait for songs if you wanted to listen to them. In those days, if you loved a song enough, you waited for the next time it popped up on MTV or fiddled with the radio knobs in the hopes of tuning into the right frequency. This was in the dark ages before YouTube and media downloads, of course, the dark ages before the Internet. Those days were sometimes musically bleak, with the occasional MTV Most Wanted request or your favorite radio station's all-request weekend serving as the beacon of light.

Today, there's no such thing. If you can't get the latest Rihanna hit out of your head, all you have to do is go online and download or stream the song. Then we put the song on repeat, hopped up on our MP3 players and on constant rotation everywhere we go. And it's not just the latest Rihanna. We've got everything from Mozart to Morrissey at our fingertips, an "Enter" and a mouse click away.

Nokia takes it one step further, making all your musical needs accessible anywhere and everywhere you go. MusicMix is a music application that allows you to access three of your favorite music sites for free downloadable content: Nokia Indie Artists Club (IAC), the Universal Music Group site and Sonic Boom Philippines. Downloadable and free for your Nokia phone from the Ovi Store, MusicMix is for music fans, which is to say everyone who's ever loved a song.

Thre three music sites split the different musical tastes. For the freshest local indie tracks, go to Nokia IAC and sample and download the next great musical discovery. For your favorite local signed bands, Sonic Boom has some of their biggest tracks, as well as wallpapers of the bands. Finally, Universal Music opens its 2,000-track library for a truly diverse musical experience.

To top it all off, your sound trip doesn't have to end with MusicMix. 45-second tracks are also available for download as ringtones. So instead of a buzz-harshing ring every time your boss calls, you've got your shower song giving you a nudge towards a lighter mood.

The MusicMix is just one of the many applications, games, videos, podcasts, productivity tools, web and location-based services that you can access through the Ovi Store. Your personal media network with a social buying experience, the Ovi Store even delivers smart content recommendations based on user actions, handset and locations.

Fun Thursday! Waz Up, Small Tube!

Lot of stuffs have been going in Television this days and I wasn’t able to feature them up lately because I lost track on most of them. Hah!

First Up, American Idol! I used to be a big fan of this program before but everything change in a complete U turn, I lost interest in watching it mainly because Americans suck in choosing their Idol since for the past few years, they fail to recognized true talent but rather go with artists (things) that can bored them to death (iPhone?), it have been airing for almost a month now but it didn’t gain traction at all and was blunted with demise! Paula left the show, Simon is leaving then finally the latest buzz, it will now close permanently with this season as their last, Yey! At last! I hope Crystal Bowersox wins but I know it won’t happen knowing how Americans hate true talent! American Idol airs on QTV 11 and Star World every Wednesday and Thursday evening.

The Amazing Race 9 is on its Top 6 now, I’m still religiously following it though not mentioned much on the blog. The difference between American Idol and Amazing Race, adrenalin and never ending rush of excitement, that’s why I will still be following it for the next few years. I hope I could be part of this competition in the future, who wouldn’t want to see the world in a stroke? My beat at the moment were the Cowboys team Cord and Jet who were fast but easily lose track, Police Officers Louie and Michael who have endured to topple everyone up amidst their old age and dating couple Brent and Caite who by the way hated by the lesbian team who were very insecure of Caite. I wonder why there was no Chick team this year, I would have easily pick them as my beat. ;) The race was currently in Malaysia at the moment with racers basking in a tropical white beach. Amazing Race airs live via satellite every Monday at 7AM with a primetime telecast same day at 8PM on Star World and every Tuesday 8PM on Studio 23.

Last but not the least, a primetime soap that I’m hooked at the moment, Queen Seon Deok, a Korean Soap Opera that narrates the thrilling and exciting story of the first Queen of Silla, one of Korea’s early kingdoms. If you’re looking for a show that defies the norm, keeps you up beaten with thrill every night and will teach you how to rule the world then this is the show you are looking for. It just combined politics, history, war strategy, unique story, good cinematography and special effects on a television program thus defying the common boring visage of soap operas. I never thought I would love this show, maybe because it tackles history, politics and desire to rule the world amidst the almost too impossible scenario. Yes, I wanted to rule the world, want to earn the title as the most powerful man and be hailed by all humanity, marked that for it will come true. c”,

Every character in the story seemed to have an interesting refute specially the main antagonists, she is one of a kind, brilliant, cunning, ambitious and defies every boundaries set for a woman yet fragile as a child, a daunting combination. The main protagonist is also as cunning, intelligent and strong willed yet careless, vicious and dreamy, another daunting opposition. Who wouldn’t want to witness their clash of brilliance?

At the moment, the story is on a pivotal shift, everyone who are following it could attest how unstoppable the thrill was every night, it seemed like the soap will leave you on the edge from start to end gaining momentum day by day, exciting as it became, I’m looking forward for it every night and became the most awaited and most talked about among the people in the house. Queen Seon Deok, Tagalized version airs on GMA 7 late night.

Nokia E71 And Nokia E66 Get Free Navigation, Today

GLOBAL – You spoke, we listened: Free walk and drive navigation is now available for the Nokia E71 and Nokia E66. The latest version of Ovi Maps with free walk and drive navigation has been available on a range of devices such as the Nokia E72, Nokia N97 mini, and X6 since January. After listening to customer feedback though, the Ovi Maps team have now created a version that works on Nokia E71 and Nokia E66.

To enjoy free navigation with Ovi Maps on Nokia E71 and Nokia E66 devices, users should follow these simple steps:

1. Download the new Ovi Maps application from nokia.com/maps to your PC

2. Install the application using Ovi Suite to your device

3. Go to applications folder and start using Ovi Maps

Note to users : if users do not install the new Ovi Maps application, they will be prompted to pay the one year navigation license of 9.99 EUR if they start using the drive and walk navigation feature.

People will be able to use Ovi Suite to sideload the latest country maps onto their devices so they can enjoy offline map browsing alongside free navigation. The process of making the latest version of Ovi Maps available for existing devices is quite involved, but the team managed to include complete navigation functionality. Due to technical constraints in backporting the app to existing devices, it isn't possible to offer further premium content such as Guide Michelin and Lonely Planet guides. These two devices will also be the last of our S60 3.1 and older devices to support this version of Ovi Maps. But every upcoming Nokia smartphone will come with free walk and drive navigation out of the box.

These two Eseries devices join the recently compatible Nokia N86 8MP, which some users discovered earlier than anticipated. See below for a full list of compatible devices.

The update is available now from Nokia.com/maps, and will also be available in Ovi Store. Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Ovi Maps compatible devices include the Nokia N97, Nokia N97 mini, Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, Nokia 5800 Navigation Edition, Nokia E52, Nokia E55, Nokia E72, Nokia 5230, Nokia 6710 Navigator, Nokia 6730 classic, Nokia X6, Nokia N86 8MP and with different functionality the Nokia E71, and Nokia E66.

Note-taking Just Got Quicker With LocaNote Lite 3

"Forget the times when slow rendering engines made note taking on touchscreen phones a jerky affair! LocaNote 3 is so fast that my brain can barely keep up the smoothness of the lines drawn is revolutionary!"

Dr. D. M. Kohrs, resident artist and assistant to the board, might not understand all the technological aspects. But her qualifications as designer make her the ideal judge: if LocaNote can replace her scratchpad, it can definitely do the same for you.
But LocaNote is more than just a stupid drawing pad. It allows you to arrange your notes into folders, which can be browsed flexibly and even more it allows you to search for notes using criteria like first edited, last edited or created on.

In general, LocaNote Lite 3 addresses all customer wishes which we were informed off so far. It provides a stable platform for future development of the product line!

LocaNote 3 is a free update for all customers who currently own a LocaNote license. New LocaNote licenses can be procured off Nokia's Ovi Store for a price of approximately 3 Euros.

New Technology Eliminates Danger To Calling Or Texting While Driving

Safe Driving Systems, LLC. (www.safedrivingsystems.com) demonstrated a software that eliminate the dangers of mobile phone calls and texting while driving using Key2SafeDriving™ at the International CTIA Wireless 2010® show.

Key2SafeDriving is available for general release for BlackBerry®, Windows Mobile® and Symbian™ powered mobile phones. Other operating systems and phones will be available in upcoming versions.

Key2SafeDriving uses easy to install handset software and a plug-and-forget Activator™ that installs in the vehicle without tools.

It monitors, reports and regulates mobile phone activity while driving. Incoming calls go directly to voicemail and incoming text messages are sent an automated reply indicating the recipient is driving and will respond later.

Emergency call functionality is always enabled while the phone is in Safe Driving Mode, allowing the person to place emergency 911 or other pre-determined phone calls.

“Our number one goal is to help save lives by empowering parents, business owners and fleet managers with tools to eliminate mobile phones as a driving distraction and giving them peace-of-mind when their teenagers and employees are behind the wheel,” said Mike Fahnert, Safe Driving Systems CEO.

Annually, mobile phone use causes 636,000 car accidents, more than 2,600 deaths, and costs an estimated $43 billion according to the Harvard Center of Risk Analysis. A recent study by Virginia Tech estimated 80 percent of all automobile accidents are caused by some form of driver distraction. Mobile phone use is listed as the top source of driver distraction.

Key2SafeDriving enforces the mobile phone policies established by an administrator such as parents or fleet managers. It has a reporting mechanism that notifies administrators if certain events occur while in Safe Driving Mode. For example, if a person tries to send a text or make a call, attempts to tamper with the product, or dials 911, the administrator is immediately notified with a text message alert.

Additionally, Key2SafeDriving is immediately available to value-added resellers (VARs), wireless carriers and retailers. Key2SafeDriving is available to consumers now for $99.95 with no annual subscription fees directly from Safe Driving Systems at http://safedrivingsystems.com/purchase/.

Excerpts Saturday! A Text Scam Or A Demise Campaign Strategy?

Last night my mom, sister, and I received a text message from this number, +639063560497, informing us that he/she is someone related overseas and that he/she have change her roaming number and is about to send a package back home. Weird since we don’t have a family member working abroad but what’s more peculiar about the message is the "sipag at tiyaga" quote at the end line which directly conveys the campaign slogan of a Presidential Bet, hah! A lame campaign strategy from the richest presidentiable at the moment, fooling people to believe on something to earn vote which makes me thought of the issues being thrown towards him, corruption involving the C5 project which was said to have earn him huge amount of money and benefits by fooling everyone.

The text was indeed related to his strategy as a businessman and politician, fooling people and take advantage of their innocence. The text serves as confirmation that he is indeed a cunning person who will do everything in his disposition to be elected even to the point to sending false messages to fool everyone. The person who promised to end corruption plaguing the country at the moment yet acting the other way around, is he is just again fooling people to deliver this promise to gain advantage like what he did with C5? It seemed so therefore we should not dare trust him in holding the country’s highest electorate position. He should, with all conviction not be allowed and not worthy to become the country’s next president. He will just become another burden our countries progress being somebody who can dare to lie and is capable of corrupting the minds of people for his own benefit. We will again be plunge to demise if he wins.

I was wondering how his team was able to access our numbers, the fact that the three of us were Globe Plan subscribers makes me think that Globe Telecom handed them this number or perhaps sold them for a remarkable price, did we not entrust the company with our private information, do they have the right to divulge our numbers to somebody? Is this some sort of a conspiracy? I would have not doubted this incident if I only receive the text alone since my number is posted on the blog for open inquiry but my sister’s and mother’s number were not. Wrong send cannot even be a possibility since we receive the same message, how can he or she mis-send the message to as much as three numbers?

Another unfair strategy of this presidential candidate is that of what GMA News have uncovered, the use of a partylist (Bata?) to extend his airtime limit. The partylist conveys a campaign directly related to the presidential candidate by using the same song, the same cast and characters thus implying the presidential candidate himself out of the partylist airtime expense, see how cunning he is? He is more dangerous that I thought since he has a way to curve rules to his advantage. This implicate something in and that is why..

I’m deeply troubled…

Good Friday!!

Good Friday, also called Holy Friday, Great Friday or Black Friday, is the Friday preceding Easter Sunday. It commemorates the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ and his death at Golgotha.

Based on the scriptural details of the Sanhedrin Trial of Jesus, and scientific analysis, the Crucifixion of Jesus was most probably on a Friday, but see the articles on Crucifixion of Jesus and Chronology of Jesus for discussions on the exact date of Good Friday, which in recent years has been estimated as AD 33, by two different groups of scientists, and originally as AD 34 by Isaac Newton via the differences between the Judean and Julian calendars and the crescent of the moon.

This are just few on the important information about Good Friday, thanks to Wikipedia.

Anyways back to my unique holy week experience. My Good Friday started drowsy that day, never have a good night sleep since we have a vigil to immortalize the agony of Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane. I have only a short and uncomfortable nap at the church chair and then woke me up 4 am early morning to prepare for the long walk procession to perpetuate the crucifixion of Christ. The catch was, instead of Christ bringing the cross to every Stations, each disciples will carry the cross from one station to another thus making me experience how to carry a heavy and long cross on a rocky velvet road and it was the most unforgettable and the best experience I have that day.

The fact that I was able to relieve Christ's experience, it gives me a feeling of self discovery, upliftment and spiritual maturity that I never felt before. It somehow cleanses my soul and gives me inspiration to do something better for myself and to other people. That very time, I thought I was carrying other peoples burdens and sins and my own and every step I made alleviates this to forgiveness just like what Christ did when he carry the Cross. It was something like a sacred act, heroic and divine and everyone should be given a chance to experience this once in their life. Truly amazing.

I could somehow site devotee's who nail themselves to the cross and those who flagellates their bodies with whips. It might have brought them spiritual experience by doing so, the experience that I went through that same day when I was carrying the Cross, so lets not be judgemental on them. Their doing it for a reason and whatever might that be, lets respect it, good or bad because its their own prerogative.

I might not be participating any reinactment ever again but I'm very proud and happy that I had and it brough a lot of chances to my life spiritualy and emotionaly. Good Friday Folks!
